Mondays SUCK! How Not To Want To Die This Monday Morning

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Getting out of bed is almost impossible. How can we make it less horrible? I have a few ideas.

Getting out of bed on Mondays is the worst.

No matter if you work in an office, as a freelancer - or even you're one of the lucky bastards that are running a business that you love (I'm one of those bustards) -

Mondays suck.

But there's hope!

There are a few things you could try in order to make this Monday smoother...

It works for me - will it work for you?

I guess you're not optimistic about it.

Who can be optimistic on a Monday?

Well, read on...

How Not To Want To Die On A Monday

Here are a few things you can do in order to feel better:

Dance All The Way To Work

Put a happy playlist in your earphones and dance all the way to work. If someone thinks you're a freak - don't give an F. They are just jealous you look happy on a Monday.

Here's a playlist I listen to when I wanna uplift my Monday's down:

My Uplifting Playlist

Plan Burritos Night for Midweek with your Spouse or Friends

Whatsapp or Telegram your friends right now. Plan something fun for Wednesday night. Movie night. Or burritos night. Or whatever night. Just make sure you have something to wait for that makes you smile.

Swim with Dolphins, Run with your Dog, Lift your Babies

I know this one is the hardest because you need some motivation for it -

but exercising can help you feel more positive. It's not me saying - there's tons of research behind it (even though I can tell you it DOES work for me always):

If you start exercising, your brain recognizes this as a moment of stress. As your heart pressure increases, the brain thinks you are either fighting the enemy or fleeing from it. To protect yourself and your brain from stress, you release a protein called BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor). This BDNF has a protective and also reparative element to your memory neurons and acts as a reset switch. That’s why we often feel so at ease and things are clear after exercising and eventually happy. At the same time, endorphins, another chemical to fight stress, is released in your brain.

It doesn't really matter what you choose - run, walk, lift babies or swim with dolphins - just move your body. 20 minutes are enough to get those endorphins shot into your brain.
