One of the activities we do to make our lives more enjoyable is shopping. It has generally become a routine of our daily life. It came to such a state that shopping spree became the most important part of popular culture. Even just festivals on shopping, discount days and large organizations began to be organized. You've all heard of Black Friday, the famous discount day. Some people are waiting for this moment all year. When it comes to that day, people are going into a tough competition to get any product they find. It may not even be called competition, some images resemble a war.
In fact, we can call it one of the diseases of our age. We can call this disease consumption craze. The system we have experienced is trying to satisfy us with materialist means. Usually, the people who are looking for items such as money, a nice holiday or a strong title in career life. Instead of looking for lasting happiness, we prefer to look for short-term satisfaction tools.
Fortunately, we go back to our main subject. The popular culture that emerged after the 1990s dragged our world to a different place. With the development of technology, people started to reach the products quickly and their curiosity for innovation increased even more. This situation gave us the feeling of consuming. That's why most of us have focused on consuming more even though we don't need it in our daily life. It seems like a habit. Therefore, it is not easy for people to give up the habits they have. So the current system provides itself a benefit. This benefit is reflected them as profit and the system continues to maintain itself.
Want to live a minimalist life?
As I mentioned, it is not easy to give up habits. But a few years ago, two young people offered people an interesting insight. From this point of view, it was enough for people to shop just as much as their needs. For example, people didn't need to buy too many clothes. It was enough for people to have a few dresses. They have written a book on this subject and even they prepared a documentary on Netflix.
According to these two young people, minimalism advises a basic and simpler life. To be minimalist, it is not enough just to get rid of the excess items. Because it's a way of life. That's why we have to change our mindset. Ok let’s look at with together how does minimalism benefit you?
- The first thing you need to do is to remove from your life the items you don't use. Because all of that item is an extra strain for you. You don't need to spend more time on an item you don't use.
- It encourages you to buy less and better quality items. You can use it for a longer period of time by buying better quality items. Thus, you will not waste your money in vain.
- As I mentioned above, this is a lifestyle. That's why you have to change your thoughts. With this style of life, you also get away from unnecessary thoughts in your minds. So you can not think of these thoughts that steal most of your time.
In fact, this way of life offers us a different point of looking. But in a minimalist life, such as the consumption craze, it represents a different side of life. Maybe you may not be completely a minimalist. However, evaluating the positive aspects of this lifestyle can be positive in terms of maintaining our lives better.
Every day I continue to offer you different topics and different perspectives with my writing. I'm curious that what you are thinking about my articles. So what do you think about it? What kind of life do you prefer? Are you shopping crazy or a minimalist? Waiting for your comments :)

I think the overall trend for sure will go to more minimal lifestyle.
For example we used to have to use big devices to handle Technology, now they are constantly getting smaller in size. Now we are very close to have it so you can handle your full life with just 1 smartphone. As the computing power in 1 phone is getting so powerful.
We are getting closer to zero marginal cost to create something. Experiences are getting more affordable as you can use a smartphone to experience virtual reality. The output of content can be 10x as much when you tweak the reward systems to be more ideal and work smooth in the background.
Shopping will probably be automated in the future. Especially as production becomes more effective. Based on analyse your taste you can get a brand new novel selection of clothes for the day. This free's up people to both be beautiful same time as they can get more work done or be more effective in their social life.
Most of a Human's life get's shipped to the Digital Cloud so it takes up less Physical space but the same time you actually get more value and a more frictionless life. More physical space means that even rent out options starts to happen. More automated Flows of value creates a positive abundance feedback loop.
