RE: How Having a Crappy Job When You Are Young Builds Character For Life!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I 100% agree with this post. I have been working since I was 14 years old walking my neighbor's dog every day so I could earn enough money to buy a game cube lol. My next job was at Victoria's Secret when I was 18 folding underwear and measuring people's boobs (not as glamorous as it seems) and then moved onto my current retail job at a shoe store, all while attending college full time. Working retail has made me appreciate EVERYONE who works in a restaurant or retail store and taught me patience, respect, and being self-sufficient at an early age. Can honestly say I am grateful for every last minute of my crappy jobs as it has molded me into the strong, independent girl I am today. Thanks for posting this! :)

Nice, you go girl! Yes, in addition to the manual labor I have done service industry jobs as well. You really learn to appreciate your good customers as there are plenty of people that treat staff terrible, which is unfortunate.

lol thank you!! and yes there are some awful people out there (especially in the area I live in) so I can relate. You definitely appreciate the good ones!

Hahaha...yeah I know. I live in the exact same area. Ironically I just commented about that when I saw your boca resort pic in your relax post.

If you go out in downtown delray at all there is a good chance we've crossed paths. I go to Smoke BBQ like once a week since my buddy bartends there.

Wow small world. I go to the ave all the time!! That would be funny if we've crossed paths :D

Well, if you ever see this guy at Smoke say hi! I'll get you a drink as a thank you for the upvotes :-) I'm 6'4" so not hard to find....lol

Btw, this is my other steemit acct along with scaredycatguide.
