When Does One Become a Man

in #life6 years ago (edited)

A man's manhood is his own, to define as he wishes. If one man questions another's manhood, manliness, or masculinity.
.
it is invariably because the questioner's manhood is frail, and in desperate need of like company.
.
One can only be a man by learning how to properly express their emotions; not by shouting, not by hitting, not by belittling, not by taking, but by instead being a respectful and generous human being.
.
We are all unique and here to follow a different path but always love and respect others and yourself and 'Know Thyself' you don't have to be 'tough to be a man but be strong in yourself as women should be too...
.
It's quite an extensive discussion though, so I'd love ya' ll to contribute..
.
when does one becomes a man??

What a great question.

Speaking personally, approaching middle age, I have been through many phases of 'manhood'. With the benefit of hindsight, most of them warped by own an incorrect perception that at a certain age combined with a certain level of experience, I would simply arrive at a destination clearly marked 'Manhood'.

I no longer subscribe to that point of view.

For me it is fluid, a constant journey with no definite arrival point.

Thank you for the post, you have me thinking now...
