Vlog #15: You have to be consistent and enjoy what you create if you want to be successful on Steemit.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Of all the people I introduced to Steemit only one ( @s3rg3 ) is really sticking with it consistently. And it's such a pleasure to see him slowly developed as a blogger.

But blogging is not as easy as it once was on Steemit. The bloggers that started a year ago simply had fewer bloggers to share the reward pool with.

So, with more users joining every day. As a new blogger, you really need to produce content you enjoy creating and be consistent at it.

And I specifically say content you enjoy creating for good reason.

In the beginning, I tried a couple of times to make content I thought would do well but I didn't enjoy. And it was mind-numbing and awful to do. I never want to go back to that.

Rewards will follow from your content and actions on here but should never be the main goal.

I talk about it more in my vlog. (starts around 3:35)

Ya its all about having fun and enjoying what your creating.

Yes man, I really enjoy writing content that I like to share. It is much easier to write while having fun than write purely for profit. In the end ai also think people will read it in your writing if you didn't had any fun writing or actually had fun writing.

I think it's true. When I made those posts I thought would do well. In the end, you could just read the misery in the words. I'm having much more fun now.

Definitely the key, of you don't enjoy it, it will become a burden!

Yeah, it will become like a job you don't enjoy.

Thank you for your post and your vlog @exyle - As a newly arrived steemian I happily consume posts like this. I am working towards building up my audience - if rewards come later then that is great. If not then I've had a blast along the way and engaged with an awesome community

Thank you for your nice comment. If you enjoy what you create and stick to posting your audience will come. O and btw, I liked your 3d Starwars model post.

Thank you @exyle - I hope you follow the progress of the project

quality and consistency, the rest will take care of itself.

I believe this too.

I love comedy writing and am really gratified at the positive response I've been getting from steemit. I love how it actively promotes original, non-plagiarized content... I'm certainly sticking with steemit. :)

Steemit is one of the most unique places on the Internet right now. There is nothing like it out there and the community is amazing. I liked your Generation X Nostalgia post. I loved Spiderman as a kid on tv.

I dug myself a hole :D
I focused mostly on photography for 6 months, now I'm trying to make 50% photo 50% science/news/philosophy etc. I'm not getting much votes anymore :D Guess I'll just have to stick with it and attract a new audience.

*also it's "successful". A typo in the heading.

That's all you can do. Stick with it and create what you enjoy. thanks for the typo error. I will correct it.

I just spent 2 hours on a post and it felt fantastic! I have to admit that I do hope that I can somehow bring in hundreds on each post, but I'm having a really good time writing and meeting lots of passionate people, so it will all be worthwhile regardless.

but I'm having a really good time writing and meeting lots of passionate people, so it will all be worthwhile regardless.

Yes! this.

At least you have ONE who has listened to you! LOL I've told dozens and only two signed up and they don't do anything here. Most people just don't like to change or try anything new, or else it's just my poor salesmanship. 😀

Haha, it's not you. I'm sure many will come when the blockchain is even better and the apps are perfect. I'm very happy I managed to get one on here and writing consistently! He's having a blast in the process and that makes me happy as a result.

I have been writing for a few years now for many different clients, and I immediately enjoy steemit more even if not everything I write ends up getting too much.

Being able to write whatever you want, not having to conform to certain guidelines, and putting it out there and getting compensated is all very satisfying and rewarding. I don't write as much anymore, but steemit has compelled me to do so again, especially since because I am already knowledgable on what I write about I can write out content so much faster.

Steemit has also for me reinvigorated my love for writing. And now I'm trying new things with a vlog. It's an incredibly fun journey to be on. I read your intro post! Nice!

I've been consistent only in my lack of blogs :) still learning the platform and working out what direction to take. In the meantime, happy to be learning what it's about from the likes of yourself, thanks!

Thank you so much, man! I hope you will find your blog direction soon!

Thanks dude :) Today I'm going to post some graffiti I've spotted in my current home city of Valencia, but in future i'd like to talk more about 'life' in general i think, we shall see!

Really great advice and so very true. Do what you love and the rest takes care of it's self. Your advice for beginners I feel is crucial because the newbies like myself are the future of Steemit. We need all new people to stay for the long term to make the Steemit the standard in social media. It can be very easy to get discouraged, but like anything, if you stick to it and keep your head down, you look up 6 months later and you've made incredible strides. Followed and Resteemed

Thank you for your nice reply. More users joining raises the value of the Steem blockchain and from that everyone that is on it benefits. Encouraging them to stay is therefore important indeed.

Posting every day on Steemit = a win. Community involvement is also very important.

Yes, that's absolutely true!

Yes. I've noticed all the talented artists, writers, photographers, and etc... on here. It's amazing

Great advice thanks for sharing. At the end of the day I think we are happier true to ourselves :)

Thank you and I agree with you. Being to true to yourself is very important.

This is some good advice. I just saw a couple of your videos on youtube and followed you on here. I just joined 3 weeks ago and love it here.

Thank you, and It's indeed a great place to be! I love it here too.

Great post and really inspiring for newcomers!!

Thanks, @rea!

I love the phrase you use "the grind". Using steemit is rewarding and educational, but users need to consistently produce quality content to succeed on the platform. That is what most everyone that is currently reaping the blog rewards went thru a year ago. It's the only way to attract a following unless you have some celebrity status when you start. Steemon

Indeed. Unless you are famous already or have been through the effort of getting yourself out there somewhere else you will have to work on yourself on Steemit. But it's so much fun to do!

You are correct in saying that we should enjoy what we are creating. Beauty of Steemit is, we can choose not to conform. We can be critical, anylytical, judgemental, truthful..add any other adjective that defines our natural instint. This is the beauty of Steemit which I dont find elsewhere. Making money is one part but having a platform to vent out your feeling, in this world where everyone judges you & you are always scanner, is a true bliss. All the best buddy..keep posting & happy steeming.....!!!!!!!!!!!1

I agree consistency is important. Following.

very bright advice, thank you @exyle

thank you!

thanks for your info, I have followed you, too!

I like make photography :))

Cool!, I checked out your blog. Wow, beautiful photos.

Thank you!! I am happy that you make time and look :)

dat zei ik ook aan mijn vriendenen
ze zijn al begonnen - de anderen wachten op approval ..
maar als je geen doorzetter bent kom je niet ver

You have to stick with it and enjoy what you create indeed! I hope your friends get approved soon. This signup procedure will change in a future hardfork.

@exyle thank you for sharing your thoughts 💭 and experiences. I followed you now and upvoted!

Thank you!

Great advice! I am very interested in SEO and I did a little digging and found that Steemit needs some help in this department. I'm going to be making posts about that and cover the site's SEO progress. I'm really excited about it! :D

I don't know much about SEO. I read your post about it on your blog. That was interesting. Thanks! and good luck with your posts.

@exyle I indeed feel you sir. I am a newbie on steemit and in fact I have also tried that posting about something that I thought it could be interesting to others and earn rewards. I kept on doing that way for the first few days of my blogging but eventually I realize that its not "satisfying" when I try to resist what's on my mind. I would love to express what was on my mind but I tend to be reluctant because I had thought such ideas would not interest other readers on steemit. As days went by, I unleashed by ideas and made my steemit account as my online diary instead. 😊 Fingerscrossed, I really find that way fun and comfortable. Thanks for sharing, this blog is a must-read article for other newbies.

very nice video

Thanks!
