What a difference one day can make!
I feel great this morning, the markets look stable and in the green.
STEEM and SBD both look very nice above 4 dollars.
In the end, I can say that I was very impressed with how resilient STEEM has proven to be in this recent rollercoaster.
The new bottom seems to be around $3.
When it comes to STEEM I have said for a very long time all you have to do is wait.
And that's the narrative I based a large part of my blog on for the last 18 months.
And that is I think the biggest revelation I got in the last two week when everything changed.
The waiting part is over.
STEEM is now where I always thought it could be.
Just look at some recent stats.
200K new posts per day.
50K active members per day.
1K new account created daily.
1277 on the Alexa ranking and climbing.
1.5 million transactions a day on the blockchain. (more than any other)
Steemprice > $4
And this does not even include all the value that's being created through development by the STEEM inc. team (SMT's, scaling, hf20) and community members. (dTube, dSound, busy.org, utopian.io, eSTEEM and many more).
It's incredible.
I think we can say now that the sleeping giant has woken up.

Steem indeed is a giant . Investors in other cryptos have nothing to look up to than just staring at charts and hoping the price recovers ,here we are able to increase our steem and sbd holdings without necessarily investing extra.
This is so true, that's why we are different from other crypto and we can definitely go further by creating values through information exchange.

I, too, am super bullish on STEEM. I am holding to $100 by year end. You summed up all that is going on.
SMTs are going to be a real game changer in my opinion. The creation of new tokens will bring a ton of traffic to this blockchain. More traffic equals more bandwidth needed which is priced in STEEM. Plus I expect a few airdrops to SP holders to try and lure them to the newer sites in an effort to generate some activity (and bring some people with high upvotes).
2018 is going to be an amazing year for not only STEEM but cryptos in general. I just put up a post detailing how the money on Wall Street isnt even here. The institutions are still on the sidelines..forget billions, they deal in trillions.

why did one of the founders i think #ned power down 72 million steem?
The main issue I am seeing is that there are so many spam/begging/inane posts that it is difficult to find decent content.
Another question, with all of this growth, if the number of witnesses is not growing how does the blockchain store all of this new content? Like video?
Another question, if you are a witness running a server, how much storage do you need to have right now, and how much should be planning to have for next month?
In general I am having difficulty finding any community willing to discuss the actual issues.
I am brand new to STEEM, but like what I see so far in the community. I also was new to crypto all together late last year and it is amazing in the speed in which these platforms/technologies progress. I have so much to learn and am grateful for all those that are sharing good information.

they are not gonna stop at all the steem is rocking the charts of transactions per day and can scale up way higher its just a matter of time it will see new heights which we have not even thinked of before

Dtube seems to have started bringing people over in droves, thanks to YouTube’s wonderful new censorship and demonetization. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if youtube and Facebook are responsible for Steem rising to great heights?
You're so right about cycling in London. It's not only a death wish, people do die a lot - hit by cars on the road while cycling. It was one of the things I was astonished by in Amsterdam when I first went. I actually thing it's more crazy in Amsterdam as you have to worry about 5 different kinds of vehicles when crossing the road - trams, busses, cars, etc.. but everyone is orderly, not like here :)
Waiting for some is a tough game. But waiting for me has paid off. Longterm gains are the best!

Yes its a sigh of relief indeed after a spell of horrible days. Nyway I would like to thank you since I copied your idea of creating content in Dtube. I don't have anything else to talk about so I started creating guitar lessons everyday for steemit. I don't know it will draw attention of the curators or not but I will continue as a service to the community and love for music. Today will be my 7th day of consecutive upload. Anything is possible in the Crypto market. As someone who has been trading for several years, the main thing I've learned is never do something out of fear. This can be applied in all areas of you life and not just the Crypto scene. Great post by the way.

yeah as many have mentioned in January from the past 3 years we are noticing crypto goes down for some time and then it goes up, and now its the right time to buy some crypto coins because now it will go up and will touch the sky as it did it the early days of January.

The new bottom is at 3 $. HF20 is not here yet. SMT's is not here yet. Communities is not here yet. FIAT/STEEM exchange is not here yet. Not even 1 million users yet. For many, Steemit can give them a full time salary by working a few hours pr. week if they just power up, hold, and engage with the community. One more thing! - Since you are working a lot for a better platform (witness, always voting comments etc) have you thought about waiting to vote on your own post for some time, so you can reward your followers with better curation rewards? I will start doing that today, even though my SP is nowhere near yours :)
YES!!! so happy.. 1 month ago Steem was $1 then to 8.. now $4 so we should all be happy.. a perfect bottom to grow again..
I think it's clear that steem will recover and there are other things that are coming soon that are going to continue pushing it upwards. And so will Bitcoin. But in the long run, I'm firmly on the STEEM train as I see a lot more utility and a superior technology. Bitcoin is already bogged down and the network can't handle the load - it's slow and expensive. A proper currency should be much faster to transact in. Just like STEEM :)

If the liquid STEEM from the power down is no put on the market, then it´s much more like a coin burn in a way, right? Thanks for the consistent Steem updates. Its crazy to see how far this network has made it in just a year since I've been hear. I've recently become re inspired about Steem now that I see how well D.tube and the other front ends are doing. I can't even imagine what this project will morph into when SMT's start launching left and right.
Nice post. STEEM looks very strong and I am very bullish. I expect it will hit at least $20 by the end of the year. STEEM will be a big winner after all the dust settles whit the coins that are scams or do not provide any value.

Oh, yes, my friend, the giant has woken up and I'm sure will start a violent move! Of the post-election days that we had to experience, as you correctly noted, the Steem has stood it well and under all influential markets it has been tested, it is very reassuring to me! Statistics Steemit also shows rapid dynamics and despite the difficulties people believe in our ecosystem and continue their activities! Thank you Mark and keep us informed of what's happening!

I stumbled upon this platform several months ago. I was looking for an alternative to blogpost and YouTube and I found something way better! I hope one day Steemit and its partner sites (d.tube and others) become the superior alternative to what's already out there!
I also believe steem will be a huge game changer in 2018. And I'm really glad to join here as a creator.
