Today I went on air to represent our witness @blockbrothers for the first time.
It was pretty intense if I'm honest.
Normally, when you are just listening its ok to drop your attention span for a couple of minutes or longer but not when you are expected to speak.
So you have to be sharp for two hours and only after you realise you feel drained.
So, the first thing I did after the interview was grab a beer (19:00 dutch time) and relax for an hour :)
I think it went well but there is room for improvement for sure.
The recap of the show should be posted soon so I can learn where to improve.
Normally when I make vlogs there is more room for error.
When I forget a train of thought or make a mistake I can just start over.
That's what I usually do when it happens and it doesn't matter to me wether I'm 30 seconds in or 9 minutes.
But that's a bit hard to do LIVE :)
So at times you can hear yourself say sentences that don't make sense or that the words are in the wrong order and part of your brain is telling you ' you just made a mistake' while another part is trying to ignore it while you soldier on.
I hope with practise I'll get better at this.
What was cool that in between speaking I got some encouraging words from my friends and the other blockbrothers who were listening in.
One of the blockbrothers was @eqko and after the show he invited me for beers and pizza.
Project Steemfat will just have to suffer one night :)
I got to his house around 20:15.
Pizza arrived soon after!
He also had another surprise.
He stocked up on some amazing beer!
One of them:
A 'Heaven and Earth' Bowmore barrel aged 11%. O yes!
That will be rest of my evening.
Can't asked for more after this intense experience.
Beers and pizza with a good friend.
Have good night everyone!

Step up the volume. Good for steemit and blockbrothers. Undeniably a plus for going live to inform.
Keep on steemin’
@exyle,
I never had this experience before! I think you made it well! You already doing Vlogs, therefore it might be an easy thing, that's what I believe! Anyway two beers at one night! Not bad at all :D
Cheers~
I can imagine! When I have to present my research work in front of audience, I feel nervous, even though I have now many years of experience.
Yes doing anything live is very intense, and the bigger the audience the more intense it gets. There are no re dues, every glitch is noticed. Though its also a time to shine!
I am sure you did well, your a smart guy and of course with experience you will get better and better.
Either way Pizza and Beer makes it awesome! I had some pizza and beer the other night and I just did a Dlive Beer review for a home made beer I had on my birthday which was a Coffee Stout!
Sure do love beer and pizza as they are a match made in heaven!
hey man, I had no idea you were a beer man! That Coffee stout review was excellent. I love a good stout. Also congratulations on your birthday! I had the chance to listen to the radio show this morning and I was pretty happy with the way it went but there is plenty room improvement. Experience will help here indeed!
Mark @exyle I am sure you did just fine in your LIVE Debut. I understand having a case of the Nerves but before you know it you will be an old pro and you will enjoy the LIVE Shows and Discussions even more and more.
Yes a beer and a pizza with your friend is a nice reward.
The reward was nice indeed!
Nice Brother!! Ride the tide. Cheers!!
Have a lovely weekend. Pizza and good beer definitely a good start for weekend. Definitely a best brother is @blockbrothers :)
A very good start!
Excellent my friend @exyle!! It happened to you as it did to me when I had a live song for the first time... My nerves were too big, so many that I even made a mistake in one part of the song, I was lucky to be able to take it again...
Well, thank goodness in your case you were able to improvise and everything went well! Then great way to relax with pizza and hahaha beers.
Greetings and a hug from Venezuela colleague :D
Thanks, man!
I am very glad that I made my first broadcast on the radio and I am sure that you had something to tell the listener and share your opinion! Well, further, what could be better than meeting with a friend for a glass of excellent beer and communication on general topics! Well done, everything was done right! Thank you Mark.
Congratulations @exyle on your first live appearance on the Radio. But you did well on your first Radio appeareance. Nobody's perfect and there is always room for improvement. The most important in here is that you handled it well and you got full support from your friends and followers. And you look good on those headsets.
First time on live Radio and pizza with a barrel aged beer, what could possibly go wrong.
wow it's nice to hear that you did a live show on radio and i think such activities really make the confidence level sky high, yes one face difficulties at first but with the practice one able to produce awesome performances, it's also great to see that you really enjoy your time with your friend eqko after that live performance, wish you all the best in all of your future endeavors! friend, Stay blessed
I am very sure you have done well,as i know you.You are a man who knows his job very well. But being at live its always very tough, sometimes it happens that some body asked you something you know the answer very well but at that very moment you can't remember that or that answer comes to your mind later.I hope you enjoyed your drink well.Wish you success all the time and you are very different than others.Because you have got a very big heart you support minnows like me which encourages people like me very much.Thank's from deep end of my heart.@upvoted and resteemed
A new kind of intense experience hahah but you said it right to experience it was something very different from listening but that was a good one so cheers to an epic day :D
I'm so glad to hear that you are spending time at your friend @eqko house. The eqko family has gone out for some days. . He was feeling alone at home without his family. So ekqo may be happy with spending time with you.. You might have spent a very good time with pizza and beer @exyle
Cheers :)
We had a good night! thanks, man!
Bowmore barrel aged this is a good beer of drinking.wow, you live radio first timei think its your good experice.because all radio joky started their programme on radio for all listenner wanted song, story etc.this work very doing is loudly speak talk nonstop for all lisenner heard good programme.i think your friend spend good feeling time of with u. but its time he is very lonely.so,your support needs of your friend.thank u very much for ur good post sharing of your friend..@exyle
I am Afrikaans and I could read that label are you from the Netherlands?
Yes I am :)
Ja zeker👌
Nothing beats a beer and something good to chew alongside a good friend. I appeared on the live radio once, I was interviewed on what I had to offer to my students and the community I was posted to during my one-year compulsory youth service corp days and it was intense and tough at the same time.
You'll definitely improve with time, waiting for to listen to it when you finally get to post it.
Well, you have to wait to finish your talk before you take a beer. We have a pastor who used to grab a mouthful of whisky before climbing the podium to give a sermon. Well, from your vlogs am sure you did well this time. I remember my first time on live radio, it wasn't that simple. Actually made a few errors but I grew to improve within days.
I like to improve to and the only way is practice. Whiskey before speaking should help with nerves but I prefer a clear head when LIVE :)
I would never advise anyone to go with a whisky. With practice and increase confidence, it will come naturally to you.
Nou Proots dan maar en gefeliciteerd met je eerste uitzending echt top!!!
Thanks!
I think this was a great training run for the future when you are sure to be invite to more live events in order to promote the steem blockchain :)
very good option to relax having a beer, although in your place I was taken more than two, greetings from venezuela. You are really enterprising!
Congratulations dear friend @exyle for the step you have taken, I understand your words, the same thing happened to me when I spoke on a local radio of the price behavior of the basic basket, with time one improves, but the first episode has a thousand left question mark.
That you enjoy the aged neck, the pizza and the pleasant company of your friend
I wish you a happy rest
HEhe, excellent. You should have taken a beer into the interview, I am sure that would have helped ;O)
For the nerves yes! no doubt. Not so sure for the train of thoughts :)
Yea it is pretty intense LIVE, like with video blogs you can edit and sometimes not even the viewer notices or may think its just part of the video but not live, its a different ball game all together @exyle soldier on man.
You were awesome! For your first time live it was great. Don't be too hard on yourself. Enjoy the pizza and beer. You deserve it!
Thank you so much!
I have been following and upvoting most of your articles so far. It is great to see how @blockbrothers is helping the platform. It must be very exciting and nervous to be live on radio but you are really doing it for the greater good of the platform. Thank you!
Can't wait to hear the interview and I'm sure that you did great.
Little glitches and mistakes are good because it shows that you're human and makes you non intimidating and likeable!
Should be an ultra interesting show!
@aggroed released the recording. here. After listening to it this morning again I was pretty happy with the way it went.
Great I’ll listen to it with pleasure!
@exyle, wow that is amazing, congrats on your first day in the radio station, I know it's not gonna be too tough for you because you are an extrovert and you are very use to the public through vblog and youtubes, nevertheless they will be some mistakesbut you learn from your mistakes and improve as time goes on.
Being live can be pretty demanding. If you are on a recording, you can afford to make some mistakes; the producer can delete that part and you start all over. However, when you are live you just have to work extremely hard to atleast minimize the grammatical errors and pronunciations flops.
The headphone looks good on you. I know you did well.
Two hours was long so you really need that beer. Just don't get drunk please 😉
I'll be hanging around here waiting for the recap of the show. I mean where would I rather be.?
I am sure you handled it on your way... Live speaking makes everyone nervous. That is understandable. Have a great weekend.
Very funny @propofol, Nusret is from here where I live, salt is needed!!
yeah funy :)
Best Brothers!

This is really great, speaking on the radio can be really demanding, you need to be on your toes throughout and alot of people are listening so no room for errors
at the sole own time, beer and pizza are true friends.
Looks like you two had a great time .

Every first time thing is not always perfect... But with constant practice perfection is sure!
Believe me, next time you will do better..
Can't wait for recap.
A 'Heaven and Earth' Bowmore barrel aged 11%!!!!
surreal & fascinating!
exhilarated & delightful!
I have to drink at least two cups of DARK ROAST COFFEE during the hour before a radio show, to help organize my thoughts and clear the pallet, so to speak, so I can talk coherently and quickly! Lengthy soliloquys without written text are most difficult.. one could say ANYTHING! Dialogues with a co-host are easiest; dialogues with a guest, especially over the phone, are more difficult. I have done a half-hour Blogtalkradio show (astrology and tarot) for the past 14 months and a 90-minute show on Freedomizer radio (Books, current events and metphysics)for the last 6 months....but I still get a bit jittery and uncertain before a show! The downside of "the coffee effect." THE BEER IS A REALLY GOOD IDEA ... But drink it AFTER the radio show, not before!
Came across this live session you did, on @aggroed 's account. Currently listening to the audio while typing this comment since last 30 minutes. Still 1 hour 30 minutes are left. Needs a lot of patience to watch a 2 hour long video. I think i will keep myself busy reading other posts and writing comments while listening to the audio of the radio program. I think this will keep me engaged through out the whole video.
Bro I like your post @sisajol
