INTELLIGENCE AND STYLE..TWO INDISPENSABLE TRUTHS.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Today was one of the days I had to engage in a conversation with people I met for the first time. It was an exciting one and I learnt so much from the beliefs and views of different people. Then something struck me when I heard a certain group of people say very demeaning things about a lady who dressed in a colorful outfit. She just looked good to me, I wouldn't know how every other person would describe someone who looks good, I wouldn't want to judge anyone. Our perceptions are different and we'd always be right, because we'll always strive to give justifications for our actions and assertions but I feel people should be corrected and appreciated with love.fall-1636872__480.jpg

The people who spoke about the lady made mention of her inability to speak English fluently, buttressing that she spends most of her time trying to look good, rather than learn how to communicate like every other "intelligent" lady. Well, I wouldn't know why I felt bad about the statement but I just feel it wasn't said rightly.

There's basically nothing wrong in looking good if I should be asked, I believe it should be backed up with some level of intelligence and maturity. Same goes with someone who's highly intelligent but has a problem with his or her sense of dressing. I wouldn't have loved to use the cliché, "the way you dress will determine how you'll be addressed" but I think it's relevant in this context. An intelligent person who has a poor dress sense might find it difficult to get the attention of people even if he or she has something meaningful to share. It could be easy for people to refer to the person as being nerdy.nerd-3218307__480.png

I believe there's need to be intelligent and also dress attractively and modestly. There's no point shaming one and exalting the other. Intelligence and good dressing has to be in conformity. If you're a fashion lover and you have a weakness in presenting yourself intelligently and smartly, there's need to work towards your weakness. If you're a bookworm or someone who spends most of the time to read and who's always busy, thereby giving less attention to dressing, there's need to reshape yourself. Love yourself, use deodorants...just look good, smell nice.working-1219889__480.jpg

I agree completely dear. Most bookish people ignore their appearance most times.
