A lot of people struggle with taking action in their lives.
That is nothing new. I have plenty of experience with that myself. I've spent years talking up things and never applying it. It was lazy of me to be like that. But that isn't my case any longer.
It's only been recently, that my life is changing because I've taught myself how to focus more. This strategy is simply convincing your brain to do whatever you want to do. I share how to do that in todays vlog.
But there's more...
In the video, I share that strategy, but there are many other ones like it. In the end it's important for us to learn how our brain works. Honestly the best way to determine that is to see what we are like in different situations. I became someone more productive and committed as soon as I started to take my business seriously.
Even though I've been doing this for three years now, I only consider myself in business for only a year. The reason being I was lazy. Yes I was taking action in some cases, but I was still figuring out a lot about myself and how I work. I realized I was incredibly lazy and very distracted. However once I got over that, I started to grow more. That stemmed from me learning how I work and how I can best motivate myself.
What I'm getting at is to try different scenarios, but also using those scenarios to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
Your Comfort Zone Is Dangerous
Your comfort zone is where you are most comfortable in. It's easy to stay in there, but it can be dangerous in certain cases. For example, my comfort zone has kept me from running my business for nearly two years. I wasted all of that time, getting nowhere.
I'll admit I learned a lot from the experience, but at the end of the day, the progress I've made in this half year of working is double what I did in the two years of business prior. Because of that, I've realized that comfort is an enemy when you are looking to improve your life or aspire for something greater.
But using the strategy I outlined in my video above will help immensely in overcoming your comfort zone in due time. As I mentioned in the video, this is a strategy I've been using now for half a year and has been paying off for me. Yes there are relapses.
Such is the case when you have a choice between comfort and doing something that requires effort.
It can be tempting to go back to comfort. But comfort will become uncomfortable for you as you progress through life and eventually you will have to move.
So it's smarter now to learn how to move yourself and progress yourself now, as opposed to slacking off now and being forced to learn it quickly.
On that note too
Whenever you are making progress, you also want to keep in mind that it doesn't have to be perfect. As I've suggested multiple times, there will be relapses. It's part of the process. Instead focus solely on moving.
As Seth Godin once said:
"Waiting for perfect is never as smart as making progress."
So don't sit around and worry about getting it just right. Focus solely on making progress little by little. If you worry about perfect or things not going right, you are only adding fodder to the flame that your brain can use against you. Often times that leads to a relapse and stepping back into comfort.
Instead, be happy for the progress you made and talk positively about yourself. Furthermore remove those excuses that come up. And of course, apply my strategy, confirm your words and take action with them. Say what you are going to do, and do it.
Simple as that.
To your growth!
