Hatred sells? Yes it does! If you want to see an emo-vegan-gay kid get beat up, please proceed to reading the below and you will definitely not be disappointed.
If cruelty does sell, then you are most probably here reading this right now, which is just the point! Apologies, but the post just had to be sold and now we can get to the point. If I had a nickel for every time, somebody labeled what I am going to say as "gay" I'd probably have like 3$ ?!?!? But here's the chance to get richer.
The subject I am interested to hear about from you on this occasion is - "What would it take for you to stop eating meat?" (at least). Before we move any further it is important to mention that this is not an attempt to turn anyone vegan/vegetarian, rather to just talk this phenomenon through. Anything you have to say is surely welcome even if it's just "ur mom gay".
Let's put aside the arguments about nutrition as in "You need meat" or "Where else would one get protein?", let's imagine that this is all sorted and you do not have to worry about that. Will that be enough of reason? I guess not.
So cruelty is actually in the air, if we think about it (and what I am going to say can proudly wear the label of being "pussy" as some may put it, but I wouldn't care) - the food industry incorporates meat products in almost everything, because meat is attractive, it's tasty, but it's not that pretty on the other side (again that's obvious, you can see all the "eye-opening" cheesy vegan movies). But in addition to the fact that cruelty obviously drives the food industry, the same cruelty is incorporated the same way into an "average Joe's" (such as myself) everyday life.
Being understanding towards another person is a difficult thing to master, especially if you don't know him/her and even harder if that is an abstract person. The process actually starts from the very bottom, bullying is what eating meat might be labeled by some. And that is indeed true to an extend, so that bully from the post's name is right in the mirror. Obviously there was a time where humanity wouldn't have survived without eating others, now the times have changed, yet the rudimentary ritual still remains. In essence taking something (life) from someone (any animal used for food) who can't fight back is a "norm" these days. Surely that is the way our world works and it obviously can't do a 180 in a day, yet I feel that individually everyone should give his at least a thought.
Thanks for your time, enjoy your day while I go beat a dorky kid up for his Google Pixel 3.
I suppose if the meat industry had such a control that the average Joe, like myself, couldn't start my own farm, then perhaps I would strongly consider it. But as it is, one day I hope to start my own small family farm, and I also would like to learn to properly butcher meat. The idea is that I want my family to be self sustainable with clean energy and clean food, if the animals we consume eat clean, than we eat clean.
As the saying goes "you are what you eat from your head to your feet".
Though the thought has crossed my mind, "could I really kill and butcher an animal?" and to that I say "sure", but for the right reasons of course. I realize that the meat industry is polluted and I hope to eventually do something about it from my side of the fence, raising happy goats and chickens and then lobbing off their heads to feed my family and my community. So if the meat conglomerates banded together and lobbied for the small farmers to be prohibited from raising meat animals, then whole-plant based diet here I come!
But until then, I'm gettin' me a double-cheese burger!
