The New Era music: An updated selection of compositions for true lovers of instrumental music.

It’s fascinating to know there are people who have a really good taste towards classical instrumental music nowadays. I’m not only talking about renaissance music or classical music, composed by Beethoven or Mozart, but also about music from the selected list of current artists who have given us the pleasure of enjoying their new compositions. These artists create music by blending concepts of classical music and their own modern style. On our article today, the @elrigen team wanted to make a selection of different NE (New Era) styles of music and the various artists who compose this melodies nowadays.

Traditional Instrumental NE.

This genre stands out due to its evident similarities with classical music. It’s very gratifying to listen to current compositors who write music as Johann Sebastian Bach did in his time.
These musicians also have interpreted several compositions created by previous artists who were considered legends.

Daniel Hope

His way to make music is very similar to the european styles. As a violinist, he gives to his compositions a touch of renaissance culture and his direction is based on a romantic genre. He has also interpreted pieces of Vivaldi and Mozart.

André Rieu

He plays a central role as a violinist and orchestra director in the interpretation of his musical masterpieces. The majority of his compositions have been performed with the collaboration of the “Johann Strauss Orchestra” and is widely recognised for his exceptional concerts around the world.

Helen Jane Long

A british pianist a bit unknown in the industry but whose music has captivated many lovers of instrumental music around the globe. Her compositions have a melancholic and deep approach that helps you to relax and meditate.

Yo-yo Ma

This great violoncellist interprets classical music with a very particular characteristics. Baroque music and melodies coming from China are part of his compositions. He’s an outstanding soloist and has participated along with other artists composing music for eastern movies.

Mixed instrumental NE.

As you know, we have entered into a technology era since few decades ago and we think the following artists have taken advantage of it by creating their music through the mixing of vocal, instrumental, electronic, natural sounds and their own style.

Tyler Rix

This composer mixes instrumental music and opera with the harmony of his saxofon creating a wonderful ambient when you hear his interpretations. His album “Ascent” from 2008 was a tremendous success even though it has been his only released work. Currently he plays for small Jazz and electronic music gigs around the world. We hope he continues his career as a compositor.

Yanni Chryssomallis

A genuine and innate pianist. As a little boy he started to play the piano without reading the music sheet. His gift as a compositor has led him to perform outstanding live concerts with his team in iconic places around the world, gaining worldwide acknowledgement. Yanni is one of the few artists who honors the instrumental contemporary genre of New Era music.

Ludovico Einaudi

A dedicated pianist who has devoted himself to his passion as a compositor. His music is a blend of instrumental and digital sounds; It has a particular deepness and intensity and those who listen to his music find themselves captivated by it. He performs concerts in all Europe and Asia.

Max Richter

He stands out for his unique style of composition, his deep and melancholic singular works with a very romantic spirit. Ritcher mixes up instrumental music, electronic and opera creating a rare combination of contemporary music.

Peter Gregson

He directed the soundtrack of the british movie “A Little Chaos” released in 2015. His career as a movie director isn’t long but his talent and experience as a violoncellist is outstanding. Also, he’s participated in various compositions with artists such as Max Ritcher.

David Garrett

A spectacular violinist who won the “Guinness Record” in 2008 as the fastest violinist in the world and until now, nobody has broken his feat. He is well known for featuring the legend violinist Nicolo Paganini in the european movie “The Devil’s Violinist”. Along his career, he’s mixed up genres such as rock and electronic music and has composed great hits for Coldplay with “Paradise” and for Queen with “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

NE Soundtrack’s directors.

When we watch a movie we notice that one of the most captivating things is the soundtrack. It enhances the emotions and feelings in the movie and makes us wonder: ¿Who is behind the emotional and touching music on these movies?

Not only the best movie directors create the right ambient to tell a story in the most appropriate way, but the soundtrack plays a crucial role on its sequence. The following list includes some of the best artists who have everytime captivated and immersed us into the their movies through music.

Hans Zimmer

This german artist has had a long career as soundtrack director. He’s directed the melodies for recognised movies such as “Sherlock Holmes” (2009), the trilogy of “Batman The Dark Night” (2005), “Interstellar” (2014), the exiting saga of “The Pirates of the Caribbean” (2003) and animated movies such as “The Little Prince” (2015) and “Kung Fu Panda” (2008). We definitely owned this great artist many of the amazing times and emotions we’ve experienced when watching these films.

Steve Jablonsky

Another great director of soundtracks for movies like the “Transformers” saga (2007), “Deepwater Horizon” (2016), “The Last Witch Hunter” (2015) and video games such as “Gears of War” and “The Sims”. Jablonski has been awarded by the Academy for his talent. He currently works for Hans Zimmer at Remote Control Productions.

James Newton Howard

You will recognise this artist for his work on drama, thriller and romantic movies and few action films. He’s composed music for movies such as “”Unbreakable” (2000), “Water for Elephants” (2011), “The Green Hornet” (2011); He worked along Hans Zimmer in the soundtrack of “Batman: The Dark Night” (2008) and his long career in the industry has been recognised with many awards.
