I was wondering something after reading your text: are Timmy and you experiencing fear in the same way? Is he more sensitive than you or the opposite? Would you watch the same show if Timmy was a girl?

For me this is more of a question of maturity. I do have a 10 year old daughter and she is not allowed (nor would she want to) watch this show. It is not because of gender. I do share different pop culture with my daughter including the Harry Potter books/movies. She and I also just finished reading Wonder together (it was amazing!). As far as TV goes, my favorite show to watch with her is a Netflix show called Project MC2. It is incredible! Such positive messages about girls being smart. If you have girls 10 and up, I highly recommend it.
