RE: HORRIFIC cycling accident leads to my friend losing his leg! WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE READ!!

in #life6 years ago

As someone who lost his leg to an accident also, i must give you my respect and say that this initiative is a great one. But, i can also give you a little tip. More then any money, he will need his friends (i know, because over time, i have lost mine), so support him, even if he gets to be a grumpy asshole sometimes. Losing a limb is a huge thing. I also noticed that he is fortunate enough that he still has his own knee. So In time he should be able to pick up his life, but prepare him, that it will never be the same as it was before the accident. This is, (at least for me it was) a hard nut to crack, and tough to swallow. Do not let him dwell in the past, and be there for himand his family. Just Take a very good care of the wounds, and make sure their not getting infected. Even when you just start to use your prosthetic be gentle with pressure points, the flesh needs to get used to the other kind of pressure. ... all my best wishes, and loads of succes.

its sad to hear you have lost friends!
this is great advice as you have been through it yourself
massive respect to you and how strong you are!

i can not imagine what he is going through we are 5000 miles away atm but im on my way to see him this week

I really hope you can help out your friend, but even though you are 5K miles away, you can still be there thanks to this digital age .... further, i want to say Sorry to you, for my late reply.
