The bobbies or police can call special units that do have gun and are on 24/7 patrol - there are licensed & trained professionals who do carry firearms in the UK. The point I'm making is that guns don't kill people, people decide to use guns to kill - they could use a knife or poison but guns have to be licensed, leave fingerprints and residue and can be scanned with devices for their exact and specific dimensions to be detected by ingtelligence agencies. As discussed the threat of force should not lay in the exclusive hands of government but should extend to all citizens in their homes with god-given right to defend yourself and your children by any hostile forces including snakes and animals and extraterrestrial aliens.

When you have a society where millions of people are mentally ill and addicted to prescription drugs, making guns as readily available as candy is not a good idea.
Saying that all the murders would happen anyway because the perpetrators would just use knives is just false.
Tighter guns laws = less violent crime and death.
I never said murders would happen anyway because perpetrators would just use knives.
I did say that if somebody wanted to murder someone the fact that guns were banned wouldn't stop them.
Your police actually use guns to create a safe society - so your argument uses circular reasoning.
History proves that before genocide and massacres start the perpetrators ban guns.
So you conclude that the more guns that exist in the world the safer we all are.
Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.
No I didn't conclude that you did.
I'm not going to waste my time arguing with someone who can't read and keeps accusing me of things I didn't say.
Give it up @nick2567 you're embarrasing yourself on this thead.
Good luck relying on a government monopoly on the use of force to protect you!
That was a very ego driven reply @egodust.
Why am I embarrassing myself? I am just having a discussion with someone who has a different point of view.
