I HAVE BEEN IN THE STEEMIT FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AND HONESTLY ITS BEEN VERY HARD FOR ME.
INITIALLY I THOUGHT OF PUTTING QUALITY AND ORIGINAL CONTENTS BUT NOW I AM ALL DISAPPOINTED AND DISCOURAGED JUST AFTER MY THREE POSTS.
I STILL HAVENT GOT ANY CURATION AWARDS BUT I AM NOT SURE IF I DESERVE ANY OR NOT.
AS A NEW USER I FOUND WRITING POSTS WORTH NOTHING.
BUT I AM TRYING TO GET INVOLVED IN OTHERS POSTS.
I AM SURE THIS POST WILL ALSO BE GONE UNSEEN.
I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE MORE TIME ON THIS PLATFORM AS IT SEEMS REWARDING, BUT AT THE MOMENT I AM NOT ENCOURAGED TO WRITE MY ORIGINAL CONTENTS.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED.
I'm also pretty new at Steemit...only 4 posts in 8 days, and I already have around a 100 followers, with a reputation of 41...why? My secret? Yeah, I work really hard on my posts, but I also try to interact with my readers. I visit pretty frequently their blogs and leave comments and suggestions...in the meantime I encourage them to visit mine. If you are here for the money, at least be smarter and deal with it as a social network!

First problem is you’re plagiarizing - I just checked your sleep post and I found at least 2 paragraphs (didn’t check the rest) that is direct plagiarism from here https://www.uptodate.com/contents/insufficient-sleep-definition-epidemiology-and-adverse-outcomes#H17396927
That doesn’t fly here.
Second problem is new Steemians see the trending page and payouts and that is just a lie. Don't measure your success against that.
It takes time and patience and community to succeed here along with actual quality non-plagiarized posts.

uptodate is the professional references for the doctors . i just cant write on my own. i need data and genuine sources. some portions are from my text book. what do you suggest. if i am writing about the diseases i need facts and data and definitions. but i will try to present it in a way that general people can understand them. you should follow me you will really get useful information about the human health.
I too write in the health space. And yes! It's great to use pubmed and professional references for doctors to impart correct information that is backed by science. But, if you do that, you have to use it as a quote and then cite the source. Just like if you are writing a paper for college. If you don't cite your sources you will end up getting pinged by @cheetah or @submarine.
In addition - you won't have the opportunity to get a @curie vote.

Yeah if you think this is an easy way to make money/get exposure than for sure disappointment will set in.

The "truth" as explained to me is you pretty much have to "buy your way" up to a top spot.
Many people are invested in steem just to speculate. Of course they want it to go much higher and many believe it will go to 100 bucks in a couple of years.
You never know, you might find a nice nugget in your wallet in a few years just for staying with it a little.
I wouldn't spend too much time creating posts because it can become a time killer. Hang in there...maybe grab on to minnow booster for some extra help.

Yeah I know some are trying to use this as a means of living but I think it would be very difficult. Unless your Jerry Banfield. Time as the best judge I will just post, reply and comment.

Dear @ drogba11, i have been in the steemit more than two weeks. I tried to follow my seniors suggestions. However, your progress is better than mine. Actually I never mind for what my position is now. Having target in the steemit seems okey, but everything depends on many thing; effort, patience, luck and your strategy, a common thing right? I know some stretegies done by the stars but i dont want to do those due to my principes of life.

Steemit is for those who have patience and perseverance. It very normal for new ones to feel disappointed at its first weeks thinking you can gain something right away. But its just not how steemit works, you need to neglect and throw away all your anxiety and keep on going if you truly want to gain something. So, @drogball cheer up and keep on steeming!

I have the same issue here. My motive was not to make money but as long a little stipend comes out of it, it worth doing. I just started and i am not expecting much anyway. I felt this can be a medium to tell the world about my country; my Africa. Follow up @focygray.
You have my support but unfortunately, I can give you any smart advice since I'm also (few days) new here. But I can relate, it can be daunting at times but try to stick with it a little bit longer.
Success requires a little bit of luck and a bunch of persistance and hard work.
