It wasn't meant to be?
Let's be honest at least for the short reading time of this article. There really is no "It wasn't meant to be". You just fucked up.
I know it is very tempting to make yourself believe that. It almost gives you the feeling that it was inevitably going to turn out the way it did.
You wanted to lose weight and failed? YOU fucked up!
You wanted to workout at least three times a week and din't do it? YOU fucked up!
You wanted to get started with a new business and still aren't going for it? YOU fucked up!
Not any god or outer force made you fail nor was your failure a given from day one coming out of your mothers womb!!!
Man up and don't look for excuses! Everyone will fail many, many times in their lives. The important part is how you handle those situations. Think about every detail that you could have overlooked, every stone you left unturned. Come back stronger and try again!
A little fable for the meantime: The Fox & the Grapes
A Fox one day spied a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine trained along the branches of a tree. The grapes seemed ready to burst with juice, and the Fox's mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them.
The bunch hung from a high branch, and the Fox had to jump for it. The first time he jumped he missed it by a long way. So he walked off a short distance and took a running leap at it, only to fall short once more. Again and again he tried, but in vain.
Now he sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust.
"What a fool I am," he said. "Here I am wearing myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for."
And off he walked very, very scornfully.
There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach
Such inner conflicts are referred to as cognitive dissonance in the world of psychology.
Of course it is important for our self image to clear these conflicts, or let's say at least pretend to.
You have two options to do so: You can either bring your mindset into line with the way you conduct yourself or you can bring the way you conduct yourself into line with your mindset.
I'll let it up to you to determine which of the two is more likely to happen, even though it shouldn't be that hard to tell, after all we mostly look for the more convenient way when trying to solve problems. What I will tell you though, is this:
You don't even need to grapple with all that if you are honest with yourself!
And one more thing
Those who pretend to despise and belittle what is beyond their capability will never be able to expand their reach to where the once impossible becomes possible!
