You only fail once you have stopped trying. After reading a post by @honeydue I was inspired to share a few experiences and lessons I have learnt, with you.
Back in school we had a class called "music". I only joined this school in my 4th grade and I had never had the subject "music" before. I remember the teacher telling me that I did not have to worry and that I would get marks for free as long as I tried.
After a year of trying I still did not do well and had not yet caught up to the level which all the other students were at. By 6th grade I was finally able to be on the same level as the other students, my reports came back and I was failing (failing according to my standards). But I was not about to give up hope.
By the next year I was able to enter the UNISA exams and we had 5 months to learn what we needed to do our exams. I remember the feeling sitting in the waiting room as I heard my fellow students play the pieces we had been practicing for so long. When it came to my turn I walked into the room, it was pink! This through me off the first song I played, I did not score high on it.
In the next couple of months we all got our results and I was 3rd in the class and 2nd in my musical theory. I could of easily given up and the teacher would of been fine with it, but I gave it my all.
Everything good in life takes time and effort, lots of it! But the reward in the end far outweighs the time it takes. I now can play 3 very different musical instruments and music has become something I can rely on to change my moods when I am sad or angry.
All of this happened from never giving up. Never give up on your dreams!

Need to make a decision on whether keep on my master's degree or go back to work, and thus decide if I will dedicate to academia or industry.
I am in doubt, I am trying my best but maybe scientific research is not for me...
True, we only fail when we stop trying. Hope is a powerful thing, with it, we could surmount all stumbling blocks with life. Sadly, people give up hope too soon and thus stop trying.

Lol. Yeah, but that's how I feel too about giving up. Most give up at almost the point of success. It's crazy but true.
Oh yes, I have done that before, and the regret still eats at me.
The thing is we could either accept it as a lesson and move on to better or other things, or dwell on it and beat ourself up with no added benefit. I go with moving on and chalking it up on my how-not-to-do-things page 😀
Kinda cool that u have something on which u can RELY, to alter or 'brighten' your mood. You are fortunate.
I appreciate music [my dad took me to see the Philharmonic orchestra when i was but 9 yrs old ] -- I feel it had a profound IMPACT.
Anyhow, i can play the piano a bit & i used to play the drums ♦♦ I am happy for you; and I am happy for me, as I 've been lucky to get to see some wonderful concerts - the Eagles, Huey Lewis, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young (he was AMAZING), Yes (astonishingly good), Jethro Tull, Toby Keith, Liza Minelli !

So on point @dragonslayer109. Embracing failure and learning from them tends to build us into someone better. I admire your ability to play musical instrument. Something i like and would really love to know how to play, but dont seem to have it. Happy i was here.

Even a year i lost my hope and every single moment of my life because thought that i lost everything.
But actually one day came when i tried to ask myself that what i am doing

because before i lost hope but when i realized that there are different ways to achieve your goals faster and effectively.
then i got success
now i understand the reality of life

I don't have many photos and have never tried making any myself. Maybe it is not a bad idea to do that.

Agree with every word. Music just elevates the soul. I've sacrificed a lot in terms of career and way of life to be able to continue making music. I'm a passionate bass player and love playing

I had music lessons in school that never seemed to grasp my attention , we would look at it as a bit of a doss lesson. I tried instruments but never had the encouragement or want quite frankly. Fast forward into my mid 20"s and I was bought an acoustic guitar , I tried and I tried and got to grips with the best thing I have ever taken up. I'm only saddened that I couldn't find this talent in school! Now I can transcribe which means play by ear and have accesss to play any tune or do my best at mastering it. Never give up on learning, sometimes inspiration comes from unlikely sources. I agree @dragonslayer my mood can be reflected by the instrument whether Sad happy or reflecting it's a great outlet of emotions. Thanks for sharing 👍

You don't learn without first making mistakes. Every great inventor "failed" dozens or even hundreds of times before achieving that one great breakthrough.
Without failure we don't have penicillin.
Without failure we don't have plastics.
Even the pacemaker was created by mistake, it was supposed to be some kind of recording device that didn't work right.
If you learn from a mistake, then it's not truly a failure, always remember that.

Being that I am someone that has always been persistent and willing to work hard despite the setbacks. There is something I also learned, there is actually a point to quit. It's far passed the point most people are willing to work. It does exist though.
I have only had the experience once in my life, but to walk away was the right choice. I didn't realize this until I listened to a podcast where very successful people spoke about knowing when to quit or shift to something different.
In the end, you still need to work hard and persavere to have success though.
