-Of all people Ormazd had to send you?
-Hey, no one sent me here, Princess. I go where I want to go.
No stars or gods guide my path.

Good people of Steemit, I salute you!
I've always wondered how deep one's habit of dumping everything on others can go. After all, in the vast majority of cases, people never admit that whatever happens in life is their own fault. People never admit that they are the architects of their own destruction. It's much easier to blame everything onto something supernatural or non-existent, indicating that it's beyond their powers: destiny, fate, demons, curse, horoscope, Satan, God, aliens - the list can go on.
When something unusual happens, people always exclaim: that was fate, the stars aligned this way, you can't outrun destiny, karma is a bitch - or every other nonsense. Why can't we admit that if a brick fell on a builder, and he was without a hardhat, then it was not destiny that ordered it or God's punishment descended upon him? That it was just the human factor? He works at a construction site, went to work without a hardhat, thus ignoring the health and safety regulations - guess what? It's his fault!
The same thing with other accidents: a plane crash (lots of these), an accident on the road (even more), Titanic going down, a child left in a car during a hot day, a spacecraft disintegrating in the atmosphere during takeoff, and even Fukushima going nuts, like the once notorious Chernobyl - they're all a result of the human factor.
People are inconsiderate and negligent. No supernatural power will force you to do what you haven't planned to do. YOU are your own worst enemy. Determinism has nothing to do with it, there is no such thing as fate. Do you like to think that everything has already been planned out and decided for you? That you have absolutely no power over your life? That it doesn't really belong to you? I, for instance, don't subscribe to the idea that some higher power has written down the rest of my life for me, and I run like a lab rat in the direction, in which the scientists are expecting me to go. OH HELL NO.
YOU are the architect of your life. Y-O-U. Remember this simple formula. I was naive thinking that everyone had already figured this out, but the more I live, the more I come across this absurdity. Do you know the problem of determinism? Everything becomes too simple and, in that case, all, even the most terrible, events can be justified by "God’s punishment": slavery, massacres, serial killings, suicides, wars, crusades, the holocaust, vandalism - and worse.
So, which one are you? A lab rat or a human being controlling your own life?
Let me know in the comments.
