"Stick in and study", Says Robert McCredie,56, a shop owner in Brecon, Wales.
Robert was born in Clacks, Scotland in 1962 but moved to Wales in 1967 where he done most of his school years. His first car was a British leyland mini van and his favourite song is Four seasons By Vivaldi. As a youngster, Robert described himself as headstrong and fit, hastily telling me he ran for the county. A respected achievement.
Robert met his wife by re-wiring her fathers house and they've been together ever since. They now have a 19yr old son together.
After developing a keen interest in Engineering, Robert decided to pursue Electrical engineering at Bristol University funded by the Military and finished with a HND. With this qualification and a keen interest in the Military, he decided to serve in 53 Signal Squadron and subsequently stayed for 6years!
Up until 1995, Robert worked in a number of different Video and TV Engineering jobs but then decided to commission into 160 brigade. After a spell of serving in this brigade he left and took over his parents shop, of which he still runs to this day.
When asked about today's youngsters, he says, "They have it harder nowadays, there's no respect between each of them and knives are used to hastly, back im my day we'd shake hands after a punch up". Robert is a black belt in Karate. His sharp to the point advice for youngsters is, finish your education, study and keep off the drugs!
"My favourite age was 25-30" He said.
Roberts best life advice, is simply, just be happy and don't feel like you owe anyone anything.
"If I was 20 again, I'd definitely pursue robotics and AI, it's the future, oh.. and I'd save more money!" He said, as I frantically try write down everything.
