Isn't it all just a scam?
People who advocate against Bitcoin and against "scams" usually don't offer any jobs, any opportunity, or anything except trying to tell people something is too risky and not to do it. The truth is, you don't get anything from life without gambling on some level, unless you're just born wealthy with a silver or gold spoon. Most people born with nothing will die with nothing unless they do something about it.
Everything is a gamble
In life if you're born with very little then you have to seize any opportunity because you won't get very many. If you're starting with nothing and someone or something offers you the chance to turn nothing into something then it could be your one chance in your lifetime. Crypto-equity may be the only hope for the vast majority of people, who may be smart, who may be talented, but with no opportunity offered anywhere else.
Being risk adverse means also accepting less probability of rewards from life. This can be for anything not just investing money. Investing time requires risk as well. Investing emotions requires risk. We invest our time and our emotions into others when we have relationships (whether with humans or non-human animals), and we take great risks in order to get the chance for the rewards. In the case of crypto-equity with Steem a person only has to invest their time to get a stake.
Did you miss out on Bitcoin under $100? On Ethereum under $5? More opportunities are coming!
Just by being on Steemit you open yourself up to a world of once in a lifetime opportunities. Just by holding the right crypto-equity you can have the chance to get rich. Many people will work their entire lives and never have the opportunity to move up, but in the crypto space you can be a blogger on Steem, then buy the right crypto token on Poloniex, and find yourself retirement ready in a few years. Additionally you have the opportunity to form relationships with many very smart risk taking people who will tell you about future opportunities. It's by being associated with intelligent risk takers that you can find that once in a lifetime opportunity.
What was the point of this post?
The point of this post is if you're someone being demonetized on Youtube, if you're someone who never got an opportunity in life, if no one has been willing to give you a chance until this point, now you're being given a chance, a fresh start. Join Steem, get involved in the crypto-space, acquire crypto-equities, and take the opportunity while the door is still open. The door will not be open forever as many people will do everything they can to close it, so go get it while you still can, even if it means accepting the legally and ethically grey risks inherent to this space. Dealing with risk requires accepting uncertainty, overcoming fear, and following the smartest path of action.
I do think we are standing on the threshold of this new technology turning the corner from being something for a few deep techy wierdos to a more mainstream thing... I remember how long it took for the idea of "being on the Internet" to get from being "weird" to "mainstream." And how long it took for PayPal (representing "money handling withOUT a bank") to get from "too risky" and "a scam" to being accepted on virtually every web site on the planet.
Some people are "early adopters," some are not. Cryptos (in my non-expert opinion) are at that tipping point where they are seen less and less as a "flash in the pan" and more as "a new economy," and getting in now still represents getting in on the leading edge.
BUY Crypto, SELL the US toilet paper dollar!
The dollar will begin its 18 year cycle with a 9 year downturn period to the eurocurrencies as it always has done. This will probably be very bullish for precious metals as well.
Check out this post for more on the cycles of weakening US dollar and the current state of the dollar.

Excellent!!
I agree!
Unfortunately, what do you do when the right opp comes by and you don't have the resources to take advantage of it :( I posted about it...it's a form of madness...like knowing what numbers are going to come up on a roulette table, but not having the chips....I'm not complaining, exactly, but if you have some advice, I surely would appreciate it!
Thanks!
Excellent post!!!!
People underestimate the resources they have and what is required. If you have a computer you can make an account. Steem gives you the opportunity to get the chips.
Hi, Dana!! Great to hear from you!
I have the resources I have in the market...yet, while I am spot on with my predictions, not my timing. I have moved it around, hoping to get the right timing and catch the wave...diversifying is keeps me in the middle, neither climbing or dropping...maddening. I am thinking about what I can do...for the moment, I have diversified again because I'm exhausted and demoralized... and again, no movement...and Ripple killed me, so my middle ground is about 1/4 less than where it was...no one could foreseen the tech issues that Ripple had, so I don't blame myself...but....thank you for communications!! You are awesome!!
What tech issues of Ripple?
their server crashed
they're back up....At least, I heard that it crashed, from several sources, right around the time they were implementing the the 55 million xrp escrow
"The opportunity of a lifetime comes along once a week if you're looking for it." -Ralph Abravaya, quote from a convo during a top notch steak dinner in Buenos Aires, 2001. I've been living by that quote ever since I heard it.
That's what I'm talking about... Great Article... Don't be the average, take tons of risks in life, thats the only way to live!
this blog post makes me smile and think of how the idea of bitconnect being a scam gave me a monopoly on referrals, since other youtubers were scared to promote it, and steemit rejecting it gave youtube a monopoly of were It could get promoted, worked out perfect for me :)
but "crypto" is not "equity"...it is this conflation that causes the entire scene to look like a "scam" when one looks into the legality of tokens, and why they are closer to "pre-purchasing a video game" than "purchasing stock".
You can pre-purchase a video game, and then re-sell it once you have used it.
Sometimes, rare games go up in value after release.
Crypto tokens are no different.
They are NOT equity in any form.
Some are equities, perhaps not all. Some are assets. I don't think all crypto-tokens are the same.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equity_(finance)
There are VERY FEW that legally qualify as "equities". You're right that all crypto-tokens are not the "same", but the entire point of articulating that they are NOT equities is because of the legality associated with selling equities from unregulated markets to US citizens.
They definitely are not "all the same", again, never saying that...
But VERY FEW actually qualify as "equities".
I feel like "crypto-equity" is a plenty fair expression. It seems like a subclass of equity, from which 'equities', in the financial regulatory sense, are also derived.
I think we can all agree, it's not a "security"... (duh duh duh...)
But equity, in the informal usage of the word, seems legit to me.
And let's face it, crypto is nothing if not informal. ;)
I read 2 guys bought a house trading crypto last month. I think it was Ripple.
I bet you it was bitcoin.
Take the risk and live the Dream - WE ALL LIED,NOBODY IS LIVING THE DREAM
You might want to separate the Steemit aspect of this article from the rest of it. RISKS are very real factors that must be considered in life. In the crypto-space there are some HUGE risks out there now. You put up a Bitcoin in one of these risks in could disappear for various reasons within a day. With Steemit you minimize risk when you only spend TIME instead of MONEY on creating content or simply moving content from Youtube to this great platform. Buying Steem is a completely different story, but simply using this platform and only giving up time is a great way to diversify into something innovative. Current Youtube content creators can use Steemit as an insurance policy of sorts against demonetization. Good luck to all.
Great post, thank you. Following.
I appreciate your perspective!
Frontiers define risk!
And so, we intrepid crypto explorers must go...
into the unknown! =) *rsrt!
