Peudeung in Acehnese means sword. Peudeung as a traditional Aceh weapon is used as a weapon to attack. If rencong is used for stabbing, then the sword is used along with it, ie as a weapon for printing or chopping. Based on the area of origin of the sword, in Aceh known to several swords namely peudeung Habsyah (from the State of Abbesinia), Peudeung Poertugis (from Western Europe), Peudeung Turkey comes from the kings of Turkey.
This traditional Aceh weapon has various forms of handles that are distinguished into:
Peumpangung Tumpang Jingki (The sword-like handle of the mouth)
Peudeung Ulee Meu-apet, on the handle there is an app or anchoring to not easily detached
Peudeueng Ulee Tua Guda, the handle resembles the sole of the horse's foot.
