  1. Keep your strapless bra from falling down

I don't think there is a more annoying fashion problem than this! You found the most beautiful strapless dress and you are at the counter about to cash out. Then it hits you: the dreaded strapless bra. Oh, you hate those things. Well, dread no more: buy that strapless beauty and follow these simple steps from Who What Wear!

  1. Knot up your belt

Gone are the days of taking the end of your belt and harnessing it into that plain old belt loop. Give your outfit a little twist by knotting your belt. There are so many ways to tie your belt; try experimenting on your own as well and see what you come up with. The double knot is my favorite!

  1. Choose the right necklace for your neckline

How many times have you put on a shirt, picked a necklace, and it just didn't look right? Not every necklace was made for every shirt/dress. Make this your go-to guide to choosing the best necklace to compliment your outfit.

Finding the right necklace to wear with your gown/shirt can always seem to be a little daunting.

Often so much energy goes into designing or choosing the perfect gown/shirt for your special occasion, that your accessories can become forgotten about. But your special occasion deserves extra special jewelry.

Jewelry has become the focal point for a wedding and formal occasions, as designers are leaning toward simpler gowns, but teaming them with statement jewelry.

Contemporary jewelry is exploding onto the scene. Don’t be afraid to always express yourself through with your special piece!

Here are a lot of helpful tips to help you in choosing the right necklace for your neckline.

Strapless

All styles of jewelry will complement a strapless gown – however, just be always aware that a strapless gown exposes a lot of skin & can call a lot of attention to your bust if you have a larger chest (breasts).

Necklace styles to consider:

*a choker in small, translucent glass beads, crystals &/or gems:

*an elaborate drop necklace to compliment you/your gown;

Statement Design:

*a black onyx choker for a sleek contrast to a traditional but depends on the color of shirt/dress.

Take into consideration the embellishment that is already on your gown/shirt & select jewelry that will work along with it.

Halter & V-neck

The trick with a V-neck gown/blouse is to repeat the shape of your neckline & draw attention to your cleavage straight up.

This makes it perfect for showing off your most treasured pendant. Make sure the necklace is the optimum length – you need for it to finish about 5 centimeters (2 inches) above the “V”.

Necklace styles to consider:

*a family heirloom;

*a “Y’ drop necklaces in pearl or crystal;

*a strand of beads or pearls;

*Alternatively, if you want a little sparkle, look for something special in Swarovski crystal.

Statement Design:

*, add a tiara – or twine a hair vine accessory through your tresses – for that extra sparkle!

The designs of the halter neck gown do not really lend itself to a necklace. If you have chosen a halter neck look for a fantastic pair of earrings that suit the style of your occasion most definitely.

If you’re able to carry it off, without feeling self-conscious, you could consider a necklace that falls down your back – the halter provides the perfect opportunity and frame for such a piece of jewelry.

Sweetheart

The neckline on a sweetheart gown is eye-catching all on its own – so be careful not to over-do your accessories – keep it very simple.

Necklace styles to consider:

*a princess length necklace;

*a simple choker;

*a gold or silver chain with a delicate drop.

Statement Design:

add a decorative clasp to your necklace – that way you are still keeping it simple, but added a little glamour

Scoop...

This neckline is another that will be complemented by a variety of necklaces.

Necklace styles to consider:

*a dramatic multi-strand necklace in pearl, gemstone or crystal;

*single or double strands;

*chokers;

*a delicate “Y” necklace;

Statement Design:

*antique timepieces – think SteamPunk – are the design elements of the moment…
Off-the-Shoulder

Again, a dress which will show a lot of skin – but which will let you be as simple or dramatic as you want with your choice of necklace. Just remember…. select jewelry that complements your fabric and any embellishments on your gown.

Also, you don’t want the necklace to end too close to never end near the neckline of your dress.

Necklace styles to consider:

*chokers can be very flattering.

Statement Design:

*an elaborate collar necklace that complements the embellishments on your gown.

Square

The square neckline really draws attention to your neck.

Necklace styles to consider:

*chokers are particularly stunning – contemplate a wide, multi-strand choker;

*a dramatic single or double strand necklace.

Statement Design:

*cameos and lockets are very in vogue this season.

The height of the back of your dress will help determine the right necklace for you.

Necklace styles to consider:

*if you have a high back, consider a choker. If this necklace style doesn’t look or feel right, opt for earrings and a bracelet only.

*if you have a low back, consider a lariat or necklace that falls down your back.

Statement Design:

*try cultured freshwater pearls or zircon briolettes, that drape down your spine.

And finally, if you want to create that perfect ensemble, then you want both your outfit and your jewelry to make a statement.

Here is a handy guide to help you pair them like a pro.

  1. Stretch your shoes with your freezer

There is nothing that feels better than a perfectly worn-in pair of shoes. However, by the time they get to that point, they don't quite look as nice as they did the day you first bought them. There is a simple solution! Don't wait! Break them in overnight by using your freezer. Follow this instructions to complete this process. And if you have a lot of worn-out shoes, be sure to read #11!

The water in the bags in your shoes will freeze and expand, and stretch out your shoes.
Fill a one-quart, freezer-strength ziplock bag with water until it is half-full. ...
Place the bag of water into your shoe, stuffing it up to the toe. ...
Keep the shoes in the freezer until the water is completely frozen.

  1. DIY cap toe flats

Calling all worn-out and boring flats! It's time for a makeover. Bring those flats from drab to fab with a gold cap toe. Don't be afraid to experiment with different colors to bring a unique, new style to your closet. 1. Stop the frump between layers

I love the layered look but hate the frump. A great hack to stop this is to layer with a form-fitting tank in between your layers. This creates a seamless look and also stops your top layer from riding up.

Wear a tank top between your shirt and sweater!

  1. Stop a loose button from coming off

As you pull your sweater on, you bring that button closer to its home, but wait... oh no! It's loose! You stretch out your hands and waving them angrily, you proclaim, "Why, oh why!" You know when one loses a button, it happens at the worst possible time or it falls off without you noticing. And let's be real, who saves the extra buttons they give you when you purchased the sweater? But I assure you, this is not the end of the world. Paint a bit of clear nail polish over the loose button thread and it will be stopped from unraveling.

  1. Tuck non-skinny jeans into boots

If you shove on a pair of boots when you are wearing anything but a skinny jean, you can be left with quite the ugly mess of bunched-up denim. Follow these steps to achieve the seamless look of a skinny jean.

  1. Quick and easy ribbon flats

This look is great because it is not a permanent one. Tie a ribbon around your feet, put on your flats, and voilà! A whole new look to a pair of flats. Try using different colored ribbon, or even ribbon with a funky or pretty pattern to express your own creativity.
