Great steemians welcome to my blog!
Avoidance is not healing. Wade in the waters of truth until the lies you've been told and the ones you've told yourself are washed away.
Sometimes, all you need is someone to break the chain of lies you've been told.

I grew up among three adorable elder sisters, and I was a rascal in keeping things, compared to their organised nature. I easily forget where I keep my socks, school uniform, school bag, sandals, etc easily. Once I'm back from school, I discard everything on me, and the next morning, the whole house will be on fire trying to fix me up for school, gathering my stuffs here and there.
My mum always drummed it into my ears that I was careless and forgetful, and often wondered aloud what I'll become; compared to my elder sisters who were obviously more organised, loved the Lord fervently, and all that.
It became a limiting force for me. I entered school everyday with the notion that I had a forgetful memory and can't do well in school. I didn't even try to memorise stuffs during graduation ceremonies. Don't even assign me a responsibility. You're on your own.
But somehow, deep within, I knew I was a better person, showing flashes of brilliance and creativity which my school teachers won't stop talking about, but the lies in my head from home won't let me be great.
I silently waited for the day I'll become more, and do more in school.
One day, the school headmistress, Mrs Maduakor told my dad in my hearing that I had a "sharp brain". She said I had the ability to be the best student in my class. How delighted I was to hear that. That was in primary one or two.
From that day, I felt liberated.

Broken confidence comes from people, experience, and lack of purpose. It shows up as feelings of doubt, worry and anxiety. It often comes from the words of people that sip in and become like tape recorders, whispering to us what we can't do, who we're not, what we shouldn't try.
Those whispers, more than we can imagine, become the core of our identity.
But remember, the battle is not for your talent. It's not for your beauty. It's not for you brilliance. It's for your voice, your purpose, your Father's business in your hands.
And when you keep your mind on it, almost always, you come up short of what you should be. This is why the world is filled with people who started well, but ended up poor, broken, and unnoticed. They got lost in time. So sad.
It is important that you deliver yourself from limiting forces through consistent self confessions. People's opinions doesn't have to become your reality.
I love my mom fiercely and she's my number one fan today, tomorrow, and the day after.

The mind of a child is like a blank slate. Parents should be careful of what they write on it. They should learn to use uplifting words not downgrading ones or else they will be causing a lot of harm.
