Tears, troubles and temptations have washed beneath my feet.
Like the ocean,
They have sailed adrift in the company of many waters.
Friends, family and fellows have walked away.
Like the billows,
Their noises have rolled away the comfort of my ears.
Words, wit and wisdom have failed my might.
Like the other side of the sea,
They have made swimming across difficult for my legs.
Life, love and luxury have stolen my heart.
Like the beauty of the beach,
They have masked my face with imaginations.
So while I stand,
My soul leaps at the news of a beautiful ship
That ferries into that new year.
