Being a working adult

You are a young teenager, you lay in bed, the clock shows it's 3:30 AM in bright red digital clock font in your pitch black room. You wonder about life and why things move so slowly, you still don't have a partner, a job, you still rely on your parents for pretty much everything. Really, all you want to have though is the freedom to do what you want to do and to go out there and explore the world. Have someone to do it with. Also, a form of income which can allow that to happen.

So here we are today, it's 2:14 AM. You are 26 years old now and you have a job and you have someone that you can share everything and anything with. You have a bit of money which you saved since you started working and you do plan a few holidays a year. You live a pretty normal life, but now you also realise you spend half of the time at work.

You sit at your desk and stare at the screen. It's 4:45 PM. Your eye are tired and begin to slowly close. So slowly you barely noticed. Even if you did notice you are so tired that you allow that to happen. Now your eyes are fully closed and that feels good. Then suddenly they open and you look around to find people around you giggling and judging. Embarrassing.

So you lay in bed. It's 2:24 AM. Wishing you were a teenager with barely any responsibilities. Though, you know that is not possible. It would be if you were a fictional character in a fantasy book, but then again this is not the reason why fictional characters go back in time in movies and books. So you know you are not one.

What you really want is change. A way to make a difference. Something to think about. Something that will leave a mark. You still want to see places and travel but most importantly you want to give to the world, something it doesn't yet have.

When your eyes closed, they go places, they see things that you wouldn't otherwise see. They see all the wrongs and the how's and the why's. So next time you stare at that screen and your eyes begin to close. Just allow them and open them without feeling embarrassed and go out there and make those visions and dreams happen for a better world.

It's 2:35 AM now. See you all soon.
