Fantastic post. I have often observed that people rigid in their thinking are often frail or have back problems- I think it's nature's way of preventing them from being daring but it does make them a pain in the arse.
A few years back, I actively allowed my teen to change my mind regularly, with the express purpose of teaching her skills in persuasive argument and so that she would respect my wishes when I won't budge.

Thank you. That is a actually a very clever way of teaching a lesson. My parents tried something similar with me a few times. By reversing the role you can shift perspectives in a way that can the child to see your point of view. It is an ingenius idea.
