RE: ADSactly Personal - Cringeworthy Moments: We have all been there... (Haven't We?)

in #life7 years ago

I was waiting for an interview. My very first interview. I was living with my girlfriend, away from my hometown. She was finishing her university studies. One of us had to work. So here I was. Thin as a reed, pale, sweaty palms, mid-20s, waiting to be called for the first part of the interview. As I was waiting in that clenching anxiety, I decided, as a reminder of my barbarian roots, to pick my nose and make a little mucus ball of the impurities of my nose. And that I did. Beautiful, perfect, round ball. Exact weight, good balance. Was a thrill to shape it in an endless loop with the tip of my fingers. So, yeah, I got attached to my little lucky charm, anxiety repellant, ball of mucus. Time went by quickly while me and Willson ( yes, I've named after the famous Willson from The Outcast ) were having quality time together. Finally, a door opened. One tall, magazine-cover-like-girl asked for my name. I mumble something. Willson was quiet as fuck. So she smiled in the most beautiful way. I forgot that I had a girlfriend or that I was at an interview. She approached me and extended her hand to salute me. Me, like a motherfucking idiot, I joyfully extended mine and shook her tiny, grapes smelling, silky smooth hand. And I passed Willson to her. And I died a little inside. And I didn't slept that night. And they didn't fucking call back.

So yeah, that was cringy.
