There is a dappled beauty to the desert in its short spring bloom.
Bridges in the desert. It's not what you would expect, when talking about a desert. Bridges usually imply water, while a desert is defined by its relative lack of this resource. But here was this bridge, standing guard over a dried up stream bed.
Deserts are a world unto themselves, the most alien and foreign landscape humans can traverse without the aid of technology like space ships or submersibles. It is no great wonder that most major religions began in the desert. Judaism has its Mt. Sinai, Christianity its 40 days in the desert, Islam the revelations outside of Medina. Even Buddha went out to the relatively arid wildness near the Himalayas for enlightenment. There is some sense of the Other, the mysterious and majestic, in the desert.
i love these great stuff
