With all the talk of cryptocurrencies these days i wonder if there's another currency we should be paying attention to.
I recall watching a movie " The Circle" with Tom Hanks. This movie depicted the time where as a society we would do no wrong because we're all watching one another. The idea was that if we all knew we were being watched we would be more cautious of our actions. After the movie. i remember thinking, even though the concept was of less crime and more peaceful society there would be no agency over actions. i would like to think that being watched or not the integrity of the human being would be such that the thought of minimizing the part of our character would be unimaginable. When I was growing up the word integrity meant that no matter what someone else saw or if I was by myself I would make the same decision. The value of true integrity is a currency we cannot afford to jeopardize as a society. I worry with technical advancements in the mystery of who is behind the computer keys we could be losing the very quality of integrity we once knew to be of value.
