Hahahha, That was a fun video to watch and the things you mentioned are a lot of what I see wrong with the STEEM ecosystem. It becomes this fake content platform. Like the whole "blogging for money" thing almost becomes bait for people to buy power and since their aren't other revenue sources feeding the ecosystem it will continue to exist but I don't think it will ever thrive and 95% of it isn't actually about content.
I understand your frustrations about it 100% and I have struggled with being a content creator for a long time. Sometimes I don't feel my stuff is post worthy but in a lot of respects it is better than the alternative.
In the end I have been where you are at. And it has been when I have too much time and energy invested in the platform and I feel like I haven't gotten anything in return. That is a reason why I have never been able to go a lot deeper financially into this platform. It can take your money and devalues your time so it ends up being a double whammy.
The other people are trying to put on a smile and play the game which I'm sure they oftentimes don't see it as rewarding either but they would rather do that then go to some shitty job basically.
For the most part it still stand to reason that almost nothing on this platform can go viral anywhere else on the Internet because good content isn't actually rewarded. It is a very weird user experience here.
I had a funny idea for a post and kind of a joke about the whole platform. I was thinking of doing blank posts, I think I'd be forced to write something like a period like "." but basically the idea being hey guys, let's skip all the nonsense and the busy work. I'll make a blank post, you can come and leave an unrelated comment without having to read or watch me, I upvote you so you get your upvote, you upvote me so I get an upvote and neither of us waste time with me having to write it or you having to read it. When you really break it down in a way that's what Steemit is a big like chain or pyramid scheme lol
Sincerely, I have stopped making videos cos it seems I am wasting my time on dtube. should I say dlive was better before the switch. It sucks man. There are a lot of things I wanna bring in but they no longer support stuff. All I see are just curators enriching themselves daily.
There is one funny shit I discovered, one of the curator on dtube uploaded a video of himself interviewing his dad but this same curator uploaded the same video weeks later just to get that upload. Damn. Hope you saw berniesanders reporting them to ned. real shit going on there
Yeah in a lot of ways it devolves to that for sure. I'm going to be pitching EOS VC on a competitor to STEEM built on EOS when I'm in San Francisco in Nov so let's hope I can get funded so I can fix the issues here. :-)
That's awesome. One thing that I think is cool about whaleshares and weku and that thing your talking about and smoke is that now steemit has some competition. Like I said I don't really dig under the hood or pay too much attention to whats going on with the developers and stuff but from my limited insight and from hearing people smarter than me talk it sounds like the developers are kind of half assing growing this platform. Competition is going to force steem to either up their game or get overtaken by the next blockchain decentralized get paid to post platforms so while I hope steemit sticks around may the best platform win
