RE: Reflecting on ridiculous beer specials

in #life6 months ago

It's pretty rare that my wife drinks beer anymore (this weekend being the exception), but back before I knew her she was apparently a member of the century club. Pretty impressive since I don't know if I even could have done that back in my prime. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it really adds up over 100 minutes I guess. I've never even shotgunned a beer, so what do I know. We mostly just had the bucket of beers specials around here, though I didn't really start drinking until I was 24 and no beer until I was closer to 30, so I likely missed a lot!

Sort:

is the century club where you have 1 shot of beer for 100 minutes? If so, we had something called a "power hour" where you would do that for an hour. It sounds so simple because a shot of beer is really easy right? Well it stops being the case after about 30 minutes. it is 6 beers per person an hour and that is a lot. It's not a good idea but it starts to become difficult to pour them and one day when you are feeling like hurting yourself I encourage you and your wife to try it. For me now, I think I would seriously regret taking this challenge on.

She would probably argue that she already did it once or at least something like it with the century club. Yes, one oz of beer every minute for 100 minutes... She's kinda awesome.
