Greetings Dear Readers;

.

Hope you are well.

Are you ready to have a look at this Principle as a metaphor of emotion?

'Where there's peaks there's valleys.'

It could also be said...'Watch those peaks..they have valleys.' These are the short form version of the original from Coach John Wooden's set of sayings.

He said it this way....'All of life is peaks and valleys. Don't let the peaks get too high and the valleys too low.' John Wooden

We all have emotion and some have acquired more ability to control their emotion than others...that is because they have placed more importance on thought over emotion. Emotion is not their criterion for life....Thought is.

It is each person's choice...how high they are going to let those peaks go....perhaps the thought of the equal and opposite low will temper that high.'

Let's give this principle a think.

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

Kind Regards,

That is true in life we have ups and downs but the important thing is not to feel that we are owners of the world nor to be considered failures at times.

Greetings @hjrrodriguez ,

So true....it is surprising how emotion can get in the way of stability.

Please give my regards to the familia, ^__^

Bleujay

In other words, I interprete peak and valley as the highs and lows of life, eventually we have both, but we do need to seek stability and that's not letting it get too low or too high
Beautiful shots you've got there.

Greetings @josediccus ,

Yes...so true. ^__^

Thank you for your kind compliment.
.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Totally true!

This really gets accentuated when you are running a business as an entrepreneur. Victories and setbacks come in waves and you need to reign in the scaling up during times of expansion and keep trucking when the wave corrects down a while.

When things are going really well, check your peripheral for the thing that is about to sideswipe you!

Greetings @zekepickleman ,

Appreciate you dropping by. ^__^

Yes...I would think is true especially for you and the many projects you participate in. Even your posts carry a high level of energy.

Your last line there is so true....if things are too calm...'going too well' as you say...Be on the alert...switch from white to yellow...hehe.

I must say I noticed you concentrated on the Principle as Bleujay would always hope but since you do have a certain hobby...I would encourage you to look at the photographs a little closer....you just may recognise the most photographed golf course in the world. Of course Bleujay would not want to distract from the Principle so no telling features were included. ^__^

Cheers, Bleujay

Haha yes there IS a golf course! I was so mesmerized by the water, cliffs and grass in the breeze I didn't even notice the precarious fairway and green perched atop!

Hahahaha it's not an easy topic, or rather, it's not easy for those who want to be original in this, since there's been a lot of talk about ups and downs, but I'll say that his statement is somewhat incorrect, given that he compared our lives to peaks and valleys. Life is more like a spiral, along the turns of which we sometimes rise up, sometimes fall down the spiral, if we fail to cope with a turn of the spiral, and some segment of it turns into a mobius strip along which we run, looking for a way to the turn of the spiral leading up :)

If you believe the mountain bees lol, for example, the Caucasian bee that lives in the mountains, it searches for nectar in warm valleys, but returns to the hive in the cold mountains. A beekeeper, a mountain dweller, will consider the valley from where the bees will bring him nectar to be a cornucopia, and the mountain peaks are just a place for his quiet life. He will look at the statement you voiced differently, because, as a definition of life in general, it does not work in the key of ups and downs.
Have a blessed week!

Greetings @barski ,

Indeed there are always exceptions....but for those who might need assistance in seeing themselves through an analogy, Coach Wooden's saying just might suffice....granted he was a Basketball Coach...so indeed his life was certainly not one of calm existance. He was an interesting fellow, if you ever have opportunity to study him and his impact on his players, his writings....you will find his Christian faith was the foundation of who he was.

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

Always appreciate the opportunity to dialogue over the Principle.

.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Good day, @bleujay, yes, it is wonderful that the basketball coach chose for himself a wonderful path in God and his life... more precisely, the business he was engaged in was really similar to climbing mountains during jumps to the ring and resting in the valley during landings, and to some extent it is similar to our ups and downs, which everyone goes through, but, everything is not so simple, "to land and jump again", between the fall and the jump there can be a long and painful wandering in the desert, as I said, it is more like a spiral and a mobius strip than a direct vector motion :)
Blessings to you and your loved ones!

Beautiful pictures @bleujay, a delight for the eyes. Yes, life is indeed peaks and troughs throughout, maintaining the balance is the key. Some can do it better than others. But you rightly stress the importance of controlling emotions and not letting them run away with you. I view it more as an artform than anything else. You have a mind for a reason.

Navigate the peaks and valleys with moderation and balance and you will have found one of life's essential keys.

Lovely wisdom in this post my friend.

Greetings @peaceandmoney ,

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

It is true...'we have a mind for a reason'..hehe

Of course, the principles are wise, you can't argue with that, but I was more attracted to your watercolor painting.
The shells are stunningly accurately written :-) It's them, isn't it?

Greetings @singas....

Appreciate your kind reply.... ^__^

It is probably the hardest thing I have ever done...hehe ^__^

It is a good exercise...a subject once a week is a good target...what do you think?

Although I do not aim to paint realistically ...it is the challenge.

I think your query is whether these were painted from real shells?....right?

...thus the picture of the work in progress.

Thank you for dropping by ...always appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

I thought you were drawing from nature. You did it very realistically. Bravo!
