Another great principle from you, dear friend! As you wrote, the preferences are not real, absolutes are. Sometimes, when people ask to me why I prefer a thing instead of another thing (or why I thought something instead of something else) I reply "Simply because it's my preference. " ^_^

Indeed they do.....however it is important to be able to discern between the two.
If we keep in mind preferences are details and absolutes are real.......it may be a bit easier to keep things in the proper perspective and not take ourselves so serious.

There is nothing beautiful than nature
Another principle to think about, @bleujay. Preference is may something we see and we are surrounded on daily basis, we chose to do because we like, but on other hand there are still some absolutes that exists without being dependent if we like it or not. One of the favorite quote of artists: Art must have a conscience - it should not fear the absolute.
It is amazing how difficult it was to imagine in autumn that few months later on the ground that covered with dry old leaves and grass a new life rights its way to sun, so little and fragile but the same time so strong. Beautiful shot :)

I absolutely agree about absolutes and preferences, but what's actually sometimes hard is telling the difference.

Another way the principle could be said....Preferences are subject to change/not real......Absolutes are not.
ie. preference/absolute.......I would have my vanity graced with violets everyday.....however....Violets are seasonal flowers.
ie. preference/absolute......The preferred colour is bleu today....tomorrow it may be yellow.......however Bleu is a colour on the colour wheel today....tomorrow....forever....as is yellow.

Thank you for your well wishes @bleujay. The storm was pretty bad but thankfully we didn't sustain any major damage. All schools and some businesses were closed today due to the icy road conditions. No walking out there today, that's for sure.

Love the photos! It reminds me of a flower I saw a few weeks back taking a walk through the woods. At that point I was still in winter mode (unusual long winter we had here in Austria this year). Walking through the brown wood with nearly no green vegetation I recognized a small bright violet in the distance (thinking it was trash I was walking towards it to pick it up). As I approached I recognized it was a flower and I was stunned by its beauty. I know written down like this it doesn't really sound much but this moment was magical for me. Actually that was the moment I switched from winter mode to spring mode this year and the weather surprisingly kinda did too.
