A time has come where competence must precede sentiment. I grew up to see a society where people who assume certain positions of responsibility appoint and plant their family members in places they don't fit because these people lack competence.
Many task are left undone, many jobs are done hazardously and the cost burden on failed projects are on the rise because of sentiment and negligent.
My advise is simple - Know what you do and be good at it. Anyone who knows his job is a teacher cos he will teach others formally or informally and if you must help your family members, make sure you train them to be competent to handle whatever task you give to them. Happy new 24 hours!
