The Unbeknownst Potential of What The Human Race Can Do With The Internet

Just quickly think about what the internet can do for you right now. Not what it can do for you in the future but what it can for you right now. Do you think you can fully grasp the impact the internet can have on your life alone? Given that you use the internet in a positive way can you honestly say you know what your life would be like? Or do you not have the slightest idea?

Let's start with YouTube to see the potential lifestyle you can build if you just made a youtube channel.

You begin making arbitrary videos to start your youtube channel. The lighting isn't great, you can't afford a good camera and the angles you chose aren't the most appealing.

The editing is choppy, you don't stick to one topic and your upload rate is... well, pitiful. Slowly over time a group of people continuously watch your videos and continuously give you their time and support without you even when or why. So you make more videos.

More people like, comment and share your videos so you get new subscribers. Slowly. Eventually you get popular enough to start earning money. You create better videos because you earned enough money to buy better equipment. You read your comments and begin to realize these comments are coming from real people and your success is only possible because they continuously watch your videos.

You took the risk of putting yourself out there for the world to see and stayed consistent with your uploads until 2 in the morning just for strangers to enjoy. You cared and because you cared you wanted to upload videos until 2 in the morning... and even though you knew should have in bed a long time ago you weren't.

Big companies start recognize you and ask for promotions in exchange for money. You begin making a living off your YouTube channel. So you grab this career and all to those sleepless nights and push it to it's potential. You make songs, make products, run on tours, have meet and greets and maybe even star in movie. You go on vacations whenever you wish to and even though your having a good time with your friends it's okay because it's good footage for the Vlog. Your career furthers into something you didn't initially ask for. Why?

All because you made some silly videos for some silly website.

It's not like it can't happen. There are popular YouTubers doing this very thing right now in todays time. Think about how many people want to make youtube channels but don't. What if this how most people lived their lives though? You could take a platform to share what you think could better the world, earn money from it and take that money as tool to live the
kind of lifestyle you want. Want to travel? Make it a video. Want to see how people live in another country? Make it a video. Want to share a passion? Make it a video. Want to volunteer? Video. Fundraiser? Video. You can build any life you want. So long as you put in the work.

You can build an online business without the constant worry of expenses for having a physical store. You can make a blog. You educate yourself through research. Research on topics you are interested in and can put that research to use for an online business. You have just about all the knowledge in the world at your finger tips to find a creative way to make a living online and create a lifestyle of your choice. (as long as you have wifi) So why don't people do it? Maybe it's the risk of being judged.

Whatever "it" is take that away and think of the future.

What if people didn't have to worry about college or future careers because while they were in high school they built an online career that made them enough money to earn them a living because that was the normal thing to do. Rather than using the internet for entertainment purposes only why not use it in a way for everybody to earn a living off it? What if the internet was platform and people used it to support each others individual success rather than supporting a major corporations success. Since they were taught to build an online income early on people wouldn't have to worry about college or pleasing their boss and therefore instead of working through their lives they lived their lives. If people truly believed in this and made this the norm life as we know it would dramatically change. Maybe that can be the future of the internet. Why not manifest that future? Would putting yourself out there on the internet still be a bad thing?
