I can't believe that we got this far, even though the fire has been extinguished and the flowers that bloomed inside our hearts when we first met wilted.
All color drained from our lips onto the cold wooden floor, forming a puddle of what once was the very thing that kept us going. Hands no longer caressing each other, but the walls. Now tearing off pictures of the time we were still that one 'lovely couple'.
Maybe we're not in love with each other, but in love with the idea of being in love. And maybe that's enough.
