Someone needed to be the face. It is the only way for people to pay attention. It is hard to publish information from leaks when news media will not do their job. In a time when investigative journalists are being killed, like Michael Hastings, it sets the tone for other journalists.

Thank you for your reply @aufero. These whistle-blowers are brave beyond belief. I hear you and acknowledged this in the early part of my post. It still begs the question as to why he will not face the charges of which I am well aware. It does not add up. There must be an other ulterior motive because to suggest he is effectively incarcerated is abject nonsense. It has cost the UK about £15m.
I suspect opposition of Clinton and Soros see him as an asset. Also countries that have found out deceit of their allies through wikileaks.
I thoroughly agree. Obama stood on a platform adjacent to Merkel the other day. She was probably the highest profile individual to be affected by the revelations of Snowden.
So, why does Assange actively choose to stay in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London? His reticence to explain is contrary to his exposure of others.
