Rashed Ali got the GPA-5. Her mother Rahima Begum's heart is filled with joy. Those who have done good results in the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examination 2018, this joy in their family. But why I am going to write separately for Rashed?
- Why I am writing?
The reason for writing is that, the shirt he wore to go to school, that was made when he was class six. That's the way to the dress and it’s a long way to class ten. The shirt was not torn due to not wearing too much, but now it becomes tight. His mother works in brick kiln. Through the work of the whole day, she earns something and buy goods from the market, then they get rid of hunger a bit. Rashed had to go school without any food for many days. After returning home from school, he has tilted the bowl of rice but there was nothing. Therefore, the time was spent in stomach sticks. Mom came, cooked, then the mother and the boy ate something. The woman worker Rahima Begum's family 'does not go away'. Yet she wanted to educate her son. A stubbornness gave her this strength.
- What is that stubbornness?
We will have to return to tell this story. To return to Rajbari (a district of Bangladesh), Habaspur village of Pangsha upazila. Poor parents married Rahima at a young age. Going to her husband's house, she learned that her husband had two more marriages before her. One of them is still in the world. Rahima Begum started her husband's family after considering all her father's poorness. They were blessed firstly daughter in the house, then the son.
After the daughter, when the son Rashed was born, the first-time children of the husband cannot accept Rahima Begum. The children started oppressing on her as well as maternal mothers-in-law. At one stage, the husband divorced her and bound to forsake the house brutally. From that Rahimas’s war started.
- What is that war?
She came down to street bearing two children in her chest. Where will she go now? Finally Rahima came to her father’s family. But the father’s family is like a broken umbrella. Nevertheless, her father built a cottage house on rest of the two percent of land for Rahima. There is no food in the house. There are different proposals came from different places for her second marriage. But if you go, you will get a meal, no one will say it. But no nobody says the place where I can manage a meal to live. The first few days cannot get any food all day. At night, she takes out some flours from neighbors. If Rahima makes bread, she will need curry, so they eat them in salt and water. From that first, she works as maid servant at the house of another and later started work on the field.
When Rashed was one and his sister was two and a half years old, Rahima used to be a servant in a house. Rahima used to do her homework to put her daughter in the terrace of owner house. When the girl baby was hungry, she came out to her mother. Housewife of owner woke up at the sight of her daughter-in-eating alliance at the time of eating! The innocent baby went by crying and crying. How a mother can eat there? Take out the food and find out the girl.
With this difficulty, leaving the work of servant and enters into the field. And become a women worker. After that, started working on rice bricks, brick kilns. The days are spent in fracturing the fracture. The daughter was meritorious, but due to lack of money she could not teach him far enough, after passing the eighth grade she got married. But Rashed was not allowed to leave.
- How did Rashed study?
The student of Habaspur K. Raj High School in science department knew that the study will not just raise rice in his mouth. So he helps Rahima Begum to work. A couple of days in a week working in the shop of Abdasa Samad, businessman of Habaspur Bazar. From morning till 8 am, he has to transfer fertilizer and cement from the truck.
Apart from this, Rashed visit Dhaka and Bogra in the fish transporter at night. All night, the truck needs to be shaken by water so that the fish gets oxygen, until the fish are fresh in Dhaka. When one truck reached Dhaka, 200 taka (Bangladeshi currency) were available. Sometimes the trader is paying 100 taka with him as tips.
Rahima Begum could not hold the water of her tears in order to talk to her son sitting on the porch of her own house. The tears in this tears were pain and joy was also there. She said, ‘Rashed could not go to school every day for helping me.'
Matiur Rahman, headmaster of Habaspur K. Raj High School said that, at first sight he realized that the boy's talent. In the middle, he noticed that he does not come to school. To find out, Rashed could not come to school regularly for regular work on the field. Other teachers did not know that. They might scolded. Later, headmaster told the teachers, how many times Rashed should come to school, he should take extra care. It has its potential. He has been given all kind of support from the school. While listening to his studies story at Rashed Ali's house, neighbor Rabiul Islam said, ‘How Rashid is studying, it is not possible for a person to study so hard’.
