I’m warning you, this post may seem a shocker at first! But string along with me and see where I’m going with it…
Is your website built around you?
- Are your blogs all about you… your need to be seen?
- Or perhaps for profit… what you will get from blogging, etc?
- And let’s be honest… Yes! …You have needs just like everyone else.
But… that’s been single minded.
- To be successful in this life we need each other. We learn from each other. We profit from the association of other people. United we stand strong.
So let’s consider your…
Re-action to other people’s websites!
That will show you, what works or doesn’t work. What you should do, or not do with your own website.
How many that you come across, are clinical? Real neat and cool, cleverly done, but you still get the impression it’s all about them.
What gives you that impression? It could be one or more of the following:
- The site seems empty. Reduced to just one big picture and perhaps a few basic words and contact numbers or address.
- Or the site has lots of advertising. Just selling stuff!
- Or it’s just a show case of what that person does. Nothing of benefit to the visitor to the site.
So what’s missing?
Something people need badly, that could use or put into their own lives, that should be woven into the blog content, to entice folks to stay on the site and look around a bit longer. Things that…
- Offer a service: It a good thing if the owner of the site, states what he or she stands for and what they can do for others. Make a clear motto statement with your photo. Your photo in this case, makes people feel you are talking to them directly.
- Write about things that other people can relate to. They need to understand where you are coming from, and where they personally stand in those situations as well!
- People love to compare people’s experiences with their own, to size things up in their mind. I suppose it is part of gossiping too! And that is how their pass on your posts good points.
- Honest explanations of how you coped personally, under difficult circumstances or in the face of opposition! That people can feel they could achieve like that too… if you did, under those scary circumstances, so can they! It gives them hope.
- The human factor: They want to feel they are `talking’ (commenting) to a live mortal soul! Not a superior being! This fills a need to belong, have a social connection with you and your site’s group.
- If you understand them, their possible problems, needs and desires, you can appeal to and get in touch with their emotions and senses.
- Supplying helpful hints, advice, demos, etc. Content with simple concise understandable instructions or procedures that are easy to follow. Do things most people can easily do. This fills a need to achieve something.
- Tangible value: Offering something free. Give people something worthwhile. Even if it’s just advice. For people, it’s comforting to know you can get something for free these days. And that there are still people out there that care.
- Things that are for sale, keep them at low cost, so people feel they have made a bargain.
- People love stories: If you have a product to sell, add a descriptive story concerning it. What happened, how you created it, what it can do and how it can brighten up the lives of others, etc. Of cause it all depends on what the product is in question.
- And… everyone loves a romantic love story and how things worked out in the end.
- There’s a need for happy collaboration and interaction between parties, for your website to work on a continuous basis. The way you treat others, is the way they react and treat you in return.
- Remember what excites you, may excite others. Be an interesting person to meet and `talk’ to. Be out there writing thrilling adventures, so people can trail along with you.
- The emotional factor: Consider your feelings and emotions. Because that is the way you come across to other people. How you feel about things and how you would react to certain situations.
Have you noticed?
All these missing items or things are based somehow on emotions. An important factor in writing very good blogs!
So think about the emotional factor before posting your next lot of blogs or comments. How much of the emotional factor are you putting in them?
Your blogs are the best
I may somewhat write about the some old things. But seen from a different angle, puts a new concept to it.
I'm Short of words like seriously after being engrossed all through till I finished reading each word embedded in the content. The true is, many of us write like, let me just put something down, how many people will even read it, everyone is busy hustling for How to earn a living. We forget to carry the audience along.
I have noted all the points you raised above, I'm going to see how I will incorporate it in my writing too. Stay blessed for this bitter truth that one might not take to be important. But I see reason why I need to do exactly or more, as you have started in your blog.
I see you are like me. I love food for thought.
There is always something in what other people say, that could possible be something I could look into, that could help me too.
Never too big to see there is a learning curve we could wrestle with, hey!
you are absolutely right, no single man succeed only on his own idea, when we come to this world, we are nothing but a blank slate that awaits the pen to touch it. After which We learn everything we ever know, through our experiences, and other people experience and those that have lived before us. In the school we were made to know what others have researched about in the past, later on we too can develop on it. I always love your opinion and approach on every single topic you wrote.
You right we should learn from eachother to be success in this life
My husband thinks I need to curb my sense of non-sense. But out of the ridiculous I often find profound truths. Stuff that other miss in our mundane activities. Beautiful gems of knowledge.
Then thinking on it, I find more stuff to write about and expound on.
Great tips for helping people to learn how to be successful in this life
Our success ultimately depends on others. How we relate to them.
A business does well depending on the quality of the staff. And they work well according to how we treat them.
