Ready to go with the times?

in #life7 years ago

Living in the past can hold us back. The circumstances are ever changing in today’s world, forcing us to re-think the way we do business and write up blogs.

Shopping experiences:

Walking into a shop, we used to be treated so differently to what we’re been treated today.

  1. At one time the customer came first. And sales persons rushed to help you. And shops had every type of merchandise you can think of.
  2. Then there came the time when no one rushes up to help you. The shop had started to specialize in selected goods. And if there was a problem, the attitude was, take-it-or-leave it
  3. Then with the Internet website owners started to realize: influence, collaboration and building good relationships with their prospective buyers was important. The reason been… their little web ‘shop’ needed to be found in a much bigger wider world.

How money calls the shots:

The saying is: money-breeds-money. Anyone who looks rich or is presumed to have lots of capital gets whatever they want.

Not everyone has lots of money. And people want more for our money, no matter what’s on offer.

Then you get street-smarts: They `grab-the-bull-by-the horns’ and go for what they want no matter the opposition.

What created the changes?

  • The step up of technology inventions.
  • Communications are quicker and far reaching.
  • Climate changes and unexpected weather conditions.
  • The step up of earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, etc.
  • Greed and desire for more and more power.
  • Impatience and laziness.
  • More crime, war and insecurity.
  • Changing politics and corruption.

What next?

Since the world is changing so quickly, we need to become more aware of possible changes, to keep up with what’s happening out there. Realizing those changes will make a difference to the way people re-act and do things.

Under the circumstances, we need to be more observant to what’s really happening out there, in our immediate local milieu and worldwide?

`Climate’ awareness rules the situation!

  • What do people really need? Can you see a developing need or want?
  • What are people fighting over and unhappy about?
  • What are people’s expectations, desires and cravings?
  • What influences them most at this point of time?
  • What can they get quicker and faster? Can you make it happen for them?

To be successful:

Create something unique, and promote and cream the spoils before it becomes common knowhow.

Don’t jump on the back of someone else’s trending bandwagon (tidal wave). Copycats get less value than originals!

What does it take to be ahead?

  • To understand what’s really happening, we need to keep our `ears-to-the-ground’ and hear the tremors before they become full blown `earthquakes or tsunamis’.
  • Be more observant, ask the right questions at `ground-level’ (at its source), listen carefully and do your own research.
  • Always be analyzing what you read, see and hear. It’s the little details that spin into bigger `webs’.
  • Ask yourself where the `gap-in-the-chain’ is? What is missing that will make all the difference?
  • Where does fantasy overlap with reality? Can you make people’s dreams come true?
  • Do you need to tune in and educate the masses before launching your product?
  • Use imagination to turn negatives into positives. Sometimes negatives are stepping stones to success!

Thank you for this challenging and very helpful post. This shows your patience and love for educating people, thus empowering them, including me. More power, artguru!

Very interesting post! Now i realized how much really changed - and everything changes so quickly! We barely see what's happening around us!

I agree, create something unique! Instead of just trying to beat other people in competition.

artguru : i think you are meaning what it is contradicting with older posts....

good to be rich - yes
how you want a homless poor man sleeping in the street to be positive when he sees the food served on tables and thrown in the garbages and he is going to search for food there, >>

i think his imagination is to kiss all rich people

The money doesn't buy the feelings of truth or of lie from a customer's point of view regarding the seller =)
That's why even now, lot of merchants are still struggling with their strategy

true and real experience as a customer comes from the heart not by splashing money

You need to enlarge the value with every step you take, help other people and produce value for them, than they will give you some value back, that 1+1 will become 3 :)

Hiii...@artguru great post... love youre perspective

times have changed and we have to adapt to the changing times, understand the the times and what shapes it then fix your mind to to it, . money call the shots but their are things money cant buy and they are the best things in life and are usually free. like sleep, true love, air a happy home. as much as money is important their is a limit to what it can do

good post.. keep writing :)

I have noticed here in South Florida that many businesses will give better service to someone on the phone then to someone who is physically present . I guess the thinking is that if you are there you will definitely buy something. But the person on the phone needs to be courted if you will. I resolved the problem by calling from outside the store on the side walk and then entering the store. The employees look amused and sometimes annoyed! but it works for me.

Sometimes you are sitting with a chap in his office, working a deal with him, when the phone rings. What does he do? He answers the phone and works a deal with that person on the phone! There you sit ignored looking at whats going on and wondering perhaps I should phone next time!

Very good post. I like it so much. Thanks for sharing
