I own this little granite shop that didn't do well the way I did it. I had employees, stepped out of the day to day, and it started losing a lot of money. I let everyone go, cut all the bills I could, thinking I was going to have to close it down. Turns out that's a lot harder than I thought though. For one, I'm in a lease and a few other obligations. For two, business brokers say it takes 9-12 months to sell a business. So I have these bills to pay anyway, but I want to do crypto/blockchain/money education full time. I don't want to be very involved in the day to day there.
Then I had a thought, maybe I can combine them and make a win-win deal with some people.
So my business idea is to form a partnership that sublets from my current company. So this new partnership runs the place and just pays the bills through my current company.
With the new partnership, I want to work out a cool deal that incentivizes buy-in, teamwork, and hard work.
Basically, the rough draft idea right now is that the partners (conditionally gifted 1% at signing) will split half of the daily profits (gross profit on jobs completed that day minus sales tax minus material costs on those jobs) and take that home every day. And paid in cryptos! (Which can be easily set up to convert to USD and sent to your bank account) The other half will be put into an account and used to pay the bills. Then whatever is left over at the end of the month will be split as such: 10% to my current company, 40% to the company savings account, and 50% to an investment fund owned by partners according to how many hours they've put in.
Effectively this means that no one makes any money "hourly" but rather gets to keep a very large chunk of the money we make each day.
What comprises that fund would be voted on, new partners would be voted in, current partners could be voted out, relative pay would be voted on, the contract would have options for partners to buy me out 1% at a time. This paragraph is obviously a long story made very short, but...
My goal is to help create an environment where a few of us can come together and be on a team. Come to work with people who have your back for their own good. Get paid every single day in an exact ratio to how much we got done. Get paid long term according to the reputation we build.
To come together and work as a team to build something that we're proud of.
