If so you are an amazing individual and will be rewarded greatly. How greatly you ask? Well how does about $43 Million in precious metals and jewels sound?

Dubbed the Beale Ciphers, the encrypted messages were published in Virginia via pamphlet in 1885. The pamphlets went on to explain that a man named Beale buried two wagons full of treasure in 1820 at a secret location in Bedford County, Virginia.
He then left a locked box with an innkeeper named Morris, instructing him to open it if he does not return. Beale was never to be seen again. Morris opened the iron box 23 years later when Beale never returned but was never able to decipher the codes, eventually giving them to a young man before his death in 1863. The pamphlet goes on to explain that this young man spent his next 20 years attempting to decrypt, and only managing to solve one which detailed just how much silver, gold and jewels there was, as well as a generalized location, using the Declaration of Independence as code breaker.

The messages are still unsolved and the treasure remains unfound. The treasure is estimated to be worth $43 million as of January 2017.

As soon as I get the "Steemit Ambassador RV" I am getting a really good metal detector and heading to Virginia......lol!

I know right!

I wouldnt even bother. If no one did since 1620 then why would silly me try?
Oh don't be silly! It's only been since 1820 ;)
Do you have any idea the amount of people who died since then?! Its been 20+ billion! I'll rob a bank instead thanks
I watched this doc on the "Bandaid Robber". He robbed a bank or two a year for something like ten years. Never got caught because the witness sketches never matched- he always wore a regular bandaid on his face and somehow that screwed up peoples recollection of his features.
He was finally caught when the bandaid fell off!
This is how I would choose to troll people before the internet! :D
Ha! Epic!
LOL! Yes!
P.S. Please remember @ArbitraryKitten if you discover the treasure :)
Nice
Thanks!
OK I will get right on that after I figure out my teenaged daughter! lol
Priorities are important.
;)
Oh, and... good luck - on figuring out your teenage daughter. I am confident the Beale Ciphers will prove to much less difficult...
Ohhh great!!
Lol, please elaborate!
Lol what do you mean?!

I'm good with numbers but to me... That's what those are. Just numbers haha.
Lol! Yea, it hasn't been cracked in so long I'm not sure it'll ever happen!
Well, if they cracked the one code using the Declaration of Independence as a key, then I'd try to figure that out first. Then I'd go here - https://www.ourdocuments.gov/content.php?flash=true&page=milestone
And start sifting through documents trying the same method. Who has time for that? haha
Although, $43 million is quite an incentive. What about these "treasure owners" though. Would their descendants be entitled to this find by law? I have no idea how that would work...but then I'm jumping ahead, aren't I?

Any idea where did Beale go?
Decrypting his text is damn easy. Just add up the figures in #1, #2 & #3 then divide it with the sum of #1 & #3 and multiply the result with #2. The first and last group of 6 letters in the end result forms the GPS coordinate. I tried digging at that place but treasure seems to be either sifted somewhere due to seismic movements or had been stolen. So no, you won't find anything out of it. The prize was already claimed by the one who was quicker to solve it. Kindly declare this riddle as solved in the interest of all other Steemians. Thank you!
No idea where Beale went. There is no record of him after he left town...
That was quick @xyzashu ! You have some speedy skillz!
