I've lived in poverty and the most devastating aspect for me is the destruction of digestion system health. The weekly bouts of dysentery, mosquito spread viral infections (such as Dengue), and the occasional amoebas, is even to precipitate severe chronic illness later in life, which is my case.

And now drug use is becoming rampant in poverty stricken areas, which causes permanent brain damage. But fuck we don't need to mention only poverty stricken areas, when for example marijuana is now legal in some US States.
