Tips on How to Manage Your Time Effectively
Time is life and of course is money (no arguments!), so it is important to use it effectively as possible to succeed in our lives and jobs!
In this post I want to share with you some of interesting things that I've learned form this free course at LinkedIn.com , about how to manage time effectively:
- The 80/20 rule: What are the things you should spend your time on?
In general we have a lot of things to do just because we need to, that are repetitve tasks, not extremly important things and don't participate in our progress, these are the 80% and we must not spend more than 50% of our time on those.
On the other hand we have things very important, stratigic and leads us to our goals these are the 20% and those are the things that we need to spend more time on.
- Einstein Window: Every one has a period of time where he feels positive, in tune, and able to do any thing, this is your Einstein Window, so try to find it and use it to work on your 20% things.
- Protect you Einstein Window: This mean that you have to use your Einstein Window as effectivelly as possible, and focus on the important things (i.e: the 20%) by avoiding any distructions or interuptions, and don't waste it on the 80% things that you can do any time or even delegate them to others.
- Communicate your availability: When you work in crowded work-space, so you can be interrupted and disturbed by your co-workers, and you don't want this to happen in your Einstein Window, then you can use various techniques to show others that they are not allowed to interrupt you or in the other case that they are welcome!
For more details on these tips you can watch this free course at LinkedIn.com, and I hope that you enjoy it and that it helps you to do better with you time.
