Hey guys..
Today I chose to make an illustration of some cherries on one of my recently bought sketchbooks. Before that I spent some time learning a bit more about watercolor papers and some techniques. I ordered a couple of hot pressed sheets and books on watercolor as I have been painting on cold pressed for a while now and believe that it is time to explore other things. Also, for my illustrations I want the layered and washed out effect, which can surely be achieved on a hot pressed surface.
The diary that I used today had a smooth surface compared to my other ones which were too absorbent. The paint seemed to dry a lot faster which I used to my advantage. I loved making the leaves even though I am not really good at painting flowers or leaves & I also want to learn the washed out effect to create more elements of nature. Let me know what you guys think!
