Nick Gerritson a programmer from New Zealand has launched a virtual Politician named SAM. Sam is a female politician and will take part in elections of 2020. This AI based politician talks to the voters through facebook messenger and answers the questions about election and issues of the voters.
When asked about herself, Sam replied in a message:
” My memory is infinite, so I will never forget or ignore what you tell me. Unlike a human politician, I consider everyone’s position, without bias, when making decisions.”
By above answer it’s clear that SAM wants to clear the gap between politicians and voters, and what politician’s promise and what people get.
SAM is still learning by interacting with people, since she is powered by voter’s opinion so she will learn and grow more as more people interact with her. If you want to talk with SAM she is available on facebook, you can go and interact with her.
On health care she said:
” if New Zealand is to continue to enjoy world-class health care, more investment will be needed”
On education she said:
”investment in tertiary education has dominated recent decision, potentially skewing education policy away from more cost-effective solutions that might deliver greater economic and social value”
On climate change she said:
” it’s too late to stop some change from occurring, but if we act now we can prevent more extreme scenarios from happening. The only practical way we can help limit these effects by reducing atmospheric emissions of greenhouse gasses.”
By the above talk it can be predicted that this can be huge step to our future, if the SAM is successful in clearing the gap between voters and politicians and do whatever good, legal, promised and demanded by public it can be a huge step to our future.
