Traditional Business in Tropical Rain Forest

Soon I reached Saree (tropical rain forest), I decided to drop by to see the famous local snack production. This business has been run by local people for many years. Saree is known as the place that has a special food, mostly these local people produced the cassava snacks and others foods. It made me wonder how those snacks were produced. Then, I went to their house to see their activity. I thought, I would get trouble but I was wrong, they pleased me to see how they produced the chips. Saree itself is located under the foothill of Seulawah Aceh, Indonesia or the dutch said Goldberg. Before I continued my journey, I used to visit this traditional business.

Sesampai di Saree, kawasan curah hujan, saya memutuskan untuk mampir untuk melihat kudapan lokal yang terkenal. Mereka menjualnya di sepanjang jalan. Kita semua tahu bahwa Saree adalah tempat yang memiliki makanan istimewa, kebanyakan orang lokal ini memproduksi snek singkong dan makanan lainnya. Saya pergi ke rumah mereka untuk melihat bagaimana mereka menghasilkan keripik singkong. Itu bisa diakses dan mengizinkan semua orang melihat bagaimana cara memproduksi snek tersebut. Saya disambut dengan baik di tempat kerja mereka. Saree yang berada di bawah naungan Seulawah Aceh, Indonesia atau Belanda kata Gutrenberg. Sebelum saya sampai di kota Banda Aceh, saya biasa mengunjungi bisnis tradisional ini.

They have been doing this such activity for many years. It passed from generation to generation and indeed, this commodity has been able to fulfill many demands. Cassava is also known as tapioca or yukka root, an edible root vegetable that resemble with potato or taro. It is considered as substitute for rice but they choose to make various snack and sell them to temporarily costumers.

Mereka melakukan kegiatan ini selama bertahun-tahun, dari generasi ke generasi dan komoditas ini mampu memenuhi banyak permintaan. Singkong juga dikenal sebagai akar tapioka atau yukka, sayuran akar yang dapat dimakan yang menyerupai kentang atau talas. Hal ini dianggap sebagai pengganti beras tapi mereka memilih untuk membuat aneka makanan ringan untuk dijual ke konsumen.

I saw the process of making cassava chip. It was not easy job to do. The chips were shaped more like square crackers, as opposed to normal triangular or circular chips, along with a similarly smooth and the texture reminiscent of a wheat thin. After seasoning process was done, these chips would be packed in a transparent plastic bag, flavor-texture punch that kept us going hand-to-mouth until the snack was decimated.

Saya melihat proses pembuatan keripiki singkong. Itu tidak mudah dilakukan. Keripiknya berbentuk seperti kerupuk persegi, berlawanan dengan keripik segitiga biasa atau lingkaran, bersamaan dengan tekstur yang sama dan teksturnya nyaris menyerupai gandum tipis. Keripik ini dikemas dalam kantong plastik transparan, saus rasa tekstur yang membuat kami terus-menerus berpindah dari mulut ke mulut sampai kudapannya hancur.

Many people used this moment to take a rest while having something to bring home. In this place we could find many various snacks that allow us to choose what kind of snack do we like to bring home. When we are on road we can see those chips packs hang in front of their booth. It tempted the passers to have a taste of their original cassava chip or other tasteful snacks. Those local production keep increasing time to time as this production is included as reliable business for local people. This business has become a sole livelihood in that territory.

Banyak orang menggunakan momen ini untuk beristirahat sembari membeli sesuatu untuk dibawa pulang. Di tempat ini kita bisa menemukan berbagai aneka makanan ringan yang bisa kita beli. Ketika kita berada di jalan kita bisa melihat paket keripik itu tergantung di depan gerai mereka. Ini menggoda orang-orang yang lewat untuk mencicipi chip singkong asli mereka atau makanan ringan berselera lainnya. Produksi lokal tersebut terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu, mereka membangun sebuah gerai kecil untuk menjual camilan produksi rumah mereka.
