The Easiest Way to Become Confident

I remember the day like it was yesterday..

My brother was about to get inducted into the National Junior Society.

(This is an organization for students who did exceptionally well in the school year.)

He was in the 7th grade at the time.

My mom & dad was nothing short of proud as they sat in the audience with me.

My mom got the camera ready as the principle was about to call my brother's name .

After a few people had gone up, the principle picks up the index car and begins to slowly pronounce 'Ashraf Chowdhury.'

My brother gets up & walks over to the stage to pick up his induction ribbon.

But as he walked over to the principle, something very bad happened.

'What was that?'

He was slouching.

The car ride back, my brother got an earful from my dad about his posture.

It felt as though he never even got inducted into this prestigious club!

I kid you not, the entire car ride back the both of us heard stories about how Chowdhury men stand up straight.

I thought my dad was overreacting at the time.

What's the big deal?

It's just posture...

But over a decade later, I came to realize, my dad was right.

Posture is the EASIEST way to become more confident.

It's funny because the people who will fight you on this are the ones with the worst posture.

Shoulders slumped, droopy ass chin, slow walk etc. Is that how a winner looks??

Hell no!

A winner stands up straight, chest out & walks like they are about to go pick up a billion dollars.

But why is posture so important?

It's due to a major life law:

The mind influences the body & the body influences the mind.

Now I get it, the mind is not so easy to control.

Unless you consistently meditate, journal & practice mindfulness, you may have NO clue what controlling the mind even means!

But guess what?

You can ALWAYS control your body.

Your body influences the thoughts that go on in your mind.

If you scrunch up, then you will feel less confident.

If you are having unconfident thoughts, then you will scrunch up.

It really is that simple!

Having a great posture is not something that you are gifted, it is something that is earned.

Either work out, do the book trick, or both.

'The book trick??'

Yea.

Place a hardcover book on your head, and walk swiftly.

By the time you can do it on autopilot, you have fixed your posture.

Working out is self explanatory.

A good day of dead lifting will have you standing up straight like a winner.

Whatever route you choose, understand that your posture is dictating your future.

Now it all makes sense why my dad was so hard on us when we were kids.

He knew that our posture would mean much more than some national honor society ribbon.

And boy was he right!
