Lee Hak-jae, president of Incheon International Airport, said on the 14th, "Employees who have been at Incheon International Airport for 30 years do not know anything unless they are in the security search field."
President Lee said in a Facebook post that day, "I am posting a message after hesitating because I am worried that Incheon International Airport will be mistaken for an incompetent group."
"What is worrisome is that it is known to the world that 'if you hide dollars in a bookstore, they will not be searched,'" President Lee said. "If you search for 100% luggage opening that the president suggested as a solution, the airport will be paralyzed."
He added, "We will discuss with the customs whether there is a good plan."
"I've been contacted by countless acquaintances over the weekend," he said. "I think it was read as an intention to 'stop' to acquaintances who watched President Lee's accusation against me."
President Lee asked in a work report to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 12th, "Is it really true that tens of thousands of dollars should not be stuck (in a book) like a bookmark and go out (overseas)?" but when President Lee failed to answer properly, he criticized, "What a long story," and "Are you going somewhere else now?"
President Lee is a three-term lawmaker and was appointed in June 2023 during the Kim Yoon Suk Yeol administration.

"The point was to study whether a full-scale investigation is the only answer, or if there are other alternatives. Responding in this way looks truly incompetent. So, are all other institutions solving everything through full-scale investigations? You really seem to be living in another world. If you lack the ability, stepping down would be the right thing to do."
