A few days ago I've started a journey in which I underwent a total reset of my main #splinterlands account and decided to start from zero, with a long-term investment strategy. You can read all the details about it here, if you're interested. On that account, I am making targeted USD investments on top of the $10 one needs to spend to purchase the Summoner Book. The goal, of course, is to turn that investment into a profit.
This got me thinking, though. How does one approach the game if he is not able to make an investment on top of the Summoner Book? Is it possible to play #splinterlands successfully at all and progress, if one does not invest, let's say, a minimum of an extra $20? I propose we find out.
I happen to have a second account which is completely empty of both cards and DEC, so I propose we try it. It also just happened that I've received a rare card as a reward from completing the Daily Quest yesterday. That was what in the end gave me the idea to make this experience.
Given what was previously established on our main account, our first goal should be to start acquiring up to at least a Collection Power of 1000 so we are able to access Bronze II and start earning DEC per win. The card we've received, however, only gives 20 when it comes to Power, which means this way things will become a bit tricky as it might take us months before we reach the goal.
Sell-to-Rent
Our best option then is perhaps to list this card on the market to get DEC from the sale, and then use that DEC to rent cards on the market up to a Collection Power of 1000. Let's do that.
Sold! After placing the card on the market we acquired a total of 49.25 DEC we can now use to rent a few other cards that will allow us access to Bronze II to start earning some DEC rewards. Let's see what we can get, and how quickly we can get that investment back. We'll start with a few 24-hour rentals.
The two cheapest legendaries on the rental market will provide us the 1000 Collection Power we need and they also happen to have good synergies with Obsidian, Earth's new Splinter. Plus, I'm thinking there's a cool vibe attached just to bringing Dr. Blight into the battlefield. Let's go for it.
Combined cost of, let's call it, 5 DEC. Now the question is, can we recover that over the next 24 hours and add a little on top? We've at least gained access to better rewards from the Daily Quests, by increasing the drop rate % of cards, and we've also unlocked the door to being able to win DEC per each match won. Now it depends only on how much, and how well, we are able to battle over the next 24 hours.
I guess I will see you then, for our next progress report. Stay tuned if you are curious to know how viable #splinterlands is as a #play2earn game, if one only invests the $10 needed to purchase the Summoner Book.

Starting from the very beginning is really hard. But with if you do it with a well and perseverance i am sure you can make it.Goodluck mate.
This is just a little experience to see how far and quickly one can go by NOT putting any more money into the game other than the $10 for the Summoner Book.
The real grind is on my main account, haha.
